A Very Special Moment for the Jake Morris Foundation 🩵🪽
Today is an incredibly special and emotional day for the Jake Morris Foundation, as for the very first time, we have been able to directly support a family experiencing the kind of sudden and unimaginable loss that led to our Foundation being created.
When we lost Jake suddenly in 2023, our lives changed forever. Out of that heartbreak, the Jake Morris Foundation was created with one purpose - to help families and loved ones left behind when someone aged between 18 and 40 passes away suddenly and unexpectedly.
For the past three years, so many people have helped us raise money in Jake’s memory. Every event, every donation, every ticket bought and every person who has supported us has helped us reach this moment. 🤍
We were recently contacted by the family of Matthew Harding (pictured below), who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Matthew’s memorial stone at Gornal in Dudley was then damaged during an arson attack, leaving his family facing the additional heartbreak and expense of having his memorial restored.
Today, the Jake Morris Foundation was able to donate towards the restoration of Matthew’s memorial stone.
Being able to say yes, we can help, meant more to us than we can really put into words. 🥹
We know that no amount of money can ever make the loss of someone you love any easier. But we hope our contribution can ease one small burden for Matthew’s family and help give them back a special place where they can visit, remember their brother and hold onto all of the memories they shared with him.
This is exactly why we started the Foundation. To know that something created from the love we have for Jake, and supported by so many wonderful people over the last three years, can now bring even a little comfort to another family means everything to us.
Our first family supported, and hopefully the first of many. 🩵🪽
