Monday 4 – 7pm (Junior Youth Club)
Wednesday 5:30 – 8pm (Youth Club 10-18’s)
Background
Together In Penn Fields is a lottery funded project aimed on delivering programmes and workshops to the local community of Graisley and Penn Fields.
Based at Lea Road Community Church, the project seeks to continue the impact the church has had in the community over many decades.
Being at the heart of a transient and diverse community, the main goals of the project are to increase aspirations, reduce isolation and integrate communities.
The project has been established since 2021 and is now heading into our fifth year of funding after successfully being awarded a further 3 years of grant money from the Big Lottery.
Monday; To continue developing the Junior Youth Club (School Years 2-6), which would include a wide range of age appropriate activities.
Wednesday; Youth Club is a happy and relaxed group inviting secondary school aged young people to participate in social activities, sports, events and outings.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual who has a deep desire to improve the wellbeing and opportunities available to our local families and young people.
Essential – Experience of working with Children & Young People and Families.
Desirable – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a related field or work would be preferable.
Main Areas of Responsibility
• Organise and lead programmes and activities with young people
• Support young people and act with integrity during stressful times
• Must have a good understanding of the issues that affect the lives of the young people and a commitment to help people from a diverse community.
• Excellent people skills and the ability to establish lasting relationships
• Establish boundaries and challenge inappropriate behaviour.
• Open-mindedness and willingness to try out new things
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Compassion and patience with other people, tolerance and time-flexibility
• Interest or talent for sports, performing arts & crafts
• Active listening skills and the ability to solve problems as they occur
• A good understanding of health & safety standards and safeguarding procedures, preferably first aid trained.
• A responsibility to report safeguarding concerns to the safeguarding team.
• To assist in supervising and supporting a team of volunteers.
