Last month we were delighted to attend the debate we have long campaigned for.

We are very grateful to our MP Clive Jones and his team who has worked hard to bring the debate to fruition.

We believe that the family court system can only be informed in cases of domestic abuse when they have the specialists in domestic abuse and its complexities as part of the process to advise case by case the judiciary.

Only then can we have a truly informed system that effectively supports and safeguards survivors and children.

πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’šAs a survivor-led charity, Kaleidoscopic UK know first-hand the realities of domestic abuse and the impact it has on individuals, families, and communities πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’š

⚽ With the World Cup underway, there is often discussion about the increase in domestic abuse incidents linked to major football events.

While it is important to raise awareness of this reality, it is equally important to challenge the idea that football itself causes abuse.

πŸ‘‰πŸΌ Domestic abuse is always a choice made by the perpetrator. They choose who they abuse, when they abuse, and how they abuse. The fact that they do not abuse everyone all the time demonstrates that their behaviour is a deliberate choice, for which they are solely responsible πŸ‘ˆπŸ»

Kaleidoscopic are also concerned to hear from some of of their clients that the messaging around these statistics is beginning to create an expectation that abuse is simply part of the football season. It is not, and it should never be accepted as normal.

Awareness is vital, but so is accountability. Abuse is never excused by a match result, alcohol, stress, disappointment, celebration, or any other external factor.
We hope everyone enjoys a safe, positive, and memorable World Cup.

If you need emergency or specialist support, including refuge accommodation, please call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247.

We are proud to support our CEO, Vickie, in campaigning for Stacey's Law in memory of her sister, Stacey Queripel.

Stacey was just 7 years old when she was murdered over 33 years ago.

Today, her case is three years into being reviewed thanks to the support of former MP James Sunderland .

No family should have to wait 33 years for answers. Justice should never be a postcode lottery.

Stacey's Law would require serious unsolved cold cases across the UK to be reviewed within 5–10 years, ensuring victims and their families are never forgotten and that new evidence, technology, and investigative opportunities can be explored.

Families deserve hope, accountability, and the chance for justice, no matter how much time has passed.

Will you support Stacey's Law?

This Carers Week, we want to recognise a group of people whose strength often goes unseen.

Many victim-survivors of domestic abuse are also carers.

They care for children, parents, partners, family members or friends, often while carrying the weight of trauma, recovery and rebuilding their own lives.

For some, caring responsibilities can make it harder to leave the abusive situation.

Concerns about who will provide care, fear of disrupting support for loved ones, financial pressures, or worries about what might happen to those who depend on them can keep people trapped for longer than anyone should have to endure.

Yet every day, survivor-carers continue to show up for others with extraordinary courage, compassion and determination.

If this is you, we want you to know:

πŸ’œ We see you.
πŸ’œ We recognise your strength.
πŸ’œ We honour everything you do for those you care for.
πŸ’œ Your wellbeing matters too.

You do not have to earn rest, support or kindness.

You deserve them.

This week, and every week, take a moment to recognise yourself. Celebrate the care you give. Acknowledge how far you have come. Be proud of your courage that has carried you through some of life's most difficult moments.

You matter. Your recovery matters. Your future matters.

From all of us at Kaleidoscopic UK, thank you to every survivor who continues to care for others while finding their own path to healing.

You are strong. You are enough. You are not alone. 🌈

This week at two of our Sanctuary support groups, we spent time together decorating plant pots and coasters, creating something beautiful while enjoying conversation, connection, and mutual support.

Activities like these are about so much more than arts and crafts. They provide a safe space where survivors can build confidence, reduce isolation, and connect with others who truly understand their experiences,

At Kaleidoscopic UK, we believe in the power of survivor-led peer support. Healing is not a linear journey, and everyone moves at their own pace. That's why our support is there for as long as it is needed, offering understanding, encouragement, and hope every step of the way.

Together, we grow stronger. πŸ’œ

Wow you are all SO amazing!! Thank you for spreading far and wide and being part of the change!!! Can we hit the 7k mark together?

Too many survivors are navigating a family court system that does not fully understand the realities, dynamics and impact of abuse.

Without specialist insight, crucial patterns of coercion, control, post separation abuse and trauma can be missed.

If we truly want a family court system that protects survivors and children, then the judiciary must have access to informed, expert domestic abuse advice in every relevant case. Only then can we have a system that is fair, informed, and safe for those it is meant to protect.

This is not just about policy, it’s about lives, voices, and justice. We will keep fighting for change and hope our petition and todays debate change that for good.
