The Wynter Bee Theatre was officially opened tonight, the last night of the senior production Amelie, by its major benefactors Peter and Sarah Wynter Bee, in the presence of the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Louise Ashbery. The group were led to the theatre by the Gordon's School Pipes and Drums, where Mr Wynter Bee cut the ribbon. The theatre, which also boasts an orchestra pit, provides a dedicated space for concerts and productions, seating audiences of some 200 people. This month the school also became an All-Steinway School and will host masterclasses and concerts in the theatre using the new Steinway pianos.

What a day! One hundred and forty students made the journey from Brookwood Station to West End, led by the Gordon's School Pipes and Drums as the first Gordon boys did some 140 years ago. A chinook helicopter from RAF Odiham greeted them on the Front Field at the end of their journey, and they were presented with commemorative pin badges for the 140th anniversary of the school. Students and staff applauded their arrival on the Parade Square before the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Louise Ashbery unveiled the newly renovated clock, thanks to donations from Gordonians. The icing on the cake was that through their efforts, over £26,000 has been raised for Gordon’s Giving Day for bursaries and for the Steinway Schools appeal (donations can still be made here - https://gordons.givingday.co.uk/)
