The Adaptive Championship 2026 has once again welcomed injured servicemen and women to the NSC this week for a day of socialising, networking and most importantly some 'light hearted competition'.

Each year, the Championship brings together both familiar and new faces who share a passion for enjoying our sport in an inclusive and accessible environment. Throughout the day there was an excellent balance of friendly competition and camaraderie, creating an atmosphere that is both welcoming and rewarding for all involved.

Events like this would not be possible without the continued support of our sponsors. With great food, fantastic prizes, and a well-supported event experience, our sponsors play a vital role in making the Adaptive Championship such a successful and well-received occasion. Our sincere thanks go to Team Forces , Heckler & Koch , Teledyne Qioptiq, and SWATCOM for their ongoing support and commitment to this event year after year.

Inter-Counties 2026 - Day 1:

The R Jarvis Individual match saw competitors take to a soggy Century Range, for a King's 1 course of fire (2 sighting shots and 7 to count at each 300x, 500x and 600x)

Conditions varied as the morning went on, with spells of sunshine followed by sharp intermittent showers. Colin Skellett of Hertfordshire finished top of the leaderboard with a score of 104.123v. Second and third place were separated by count-back; second place went to Paul Cann of Devon with 103.11v, beating Matthew Blythe from Gloucestershire into third.

The afternoon session saw more squally showers, creating challenges for wind coaches and shooters alike. 19 Senior counties competed for the Lt Col H Jones short range match, together with 5 Junior counties competing for additional awards. Despite the difficult conditions, county teams produced some excellent scoring, with the top three places:

Surrey 1170.125v
Norfolk 1163.116v
Yorkshire 1157.119v

Top Junior county was West of Scotland with 571.49v

The Team Long Range matches take place tomorrow morning, followed by the Champion of Champions Individual match. Good luck and good shooting to all involved.

The NRA is delighted to announce changes to the 2026 competition structure for Target Rifle BUCS events during the Imperial Meeting. The following changes will be in place:

The short and long range matches that were previously aggregated will now be split, with BUCS points and medals awarded separately to both events.
An additional competition has been created, the ‘BUCS University Aggregate, which takes the placing of individuals and teams across the BUCS events to form an overall leaderboard with additional BUCS points awarded.
Teams no longer have to pre-select their firers during the BUCS Play entry stage. They can instead enter a ‘squad’ via BUCS Play and select their firers on the day.

These changes will have a positive impact on university shooting, increasing the number of BUCS points available by roughly 50%. This marks the beginning of NRA plans to support wider university shooting, and work with BUCS to ensure the competitions available are beneficial for students and their clubs.

Entries are now open via BUCS Play - visit their website for more details! - https://www.bucs.org.uk/events-page/rifle-full-bore-championships-2025-26.html
