We enter teams into a series of inter-club games and sports competitions each year. In the last month alone we have fielded teams at skittles, lawn bowls, dominoes and darts. It’s a great way to get to meet lots of other Rotarians from around Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.

In July we paid for a group of very young carers from Maybury Primary School to go to the seaside. They were aged 7-11 and all from disadvantaged households. For many of them it was their first time on a beach and paddling in the water. We had some fantastic feedback from the kids.

We entertained a bunch of Nigerian Rotarians back in June, and what a hoot we had. I doubt the corridors of have echoed to the sound of such enthusiastic community singing for many a year. Oh, and we inducted another new member too!

We’ve been a bit quiet on Facebook of late. Time to put that right!

We held our annual charity golf day at on 1st July in beautiful weather. A great day’s golf - including 🦌 sightings - was enjoyed, as well as the celebration dinner and auction afterwards. The event raised over £6,000 for local charities. Half has gone to to support its Woking branch.

Congratulations to the team from Seymours for winning by a clear margin.

It's happening! ✨

Last year, we launched a fundraiser to refresh our well-loved outdoor play area — and the response was incredible.

What started as a small project has grown into a full-blown renovation, transforming our outdoor space into something better than we ever could have imagined.

Our new space will feature trike-friendly flooring with a race track, creative wall art, learning tools like chalkboards and mirrors, imaginative play zones including a sand pit and mud kitchen, and a shaded area for quiet time. It's designed to support play, learning, creativity, and wellbeing.

This is all thanks to the incredible generosity of our funders 💙💚

So, a huge thank you to:
- Balfour Beatty
- Surrey County Council Wraparound Care
- The Morrisons Foundation
- Woking Lions
- Woking District Rotary
- Everyone who supported our 'An Inclusive Space for Play' appeal.

The project took a little longer to get started than expected, simply because it became a much bigger and more exciting renovation along the way, thanks to such generous donations. But work is now officially in motion, and we can't wait to share the journey with you.

It's going to be an incredible play space for children and young people with a learning disability and autism for many years to come.

Watch this space for updates as our new outdoor area takes shape!
