🏳️⚧️ At moments like this, it is more important than ever that we stand together as a community.
Today, the EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect. We know that many trans and non-binary people across the UK will be approaching today with anxiety, uncertainty and understandable concern.
If that is how you are feeling today, please know this: you are not alone.
While the Code of Practice provides guidance on the application of equality law, it does not remove the legal protections against harassment or unlawful discrimination that trans people continue to have.
To every trans and non-binary person reading this: you are seen, you are valued, and you belong. Your identity is valid. Your voice matters. There are countless people, organisations and communities who stand beside you today, and every day.
Pride has always been about more than celebration. It is about standing together in the face of adversity, championing equality, and ensuring that every LGBTQ+ person can live openly, safely and with dignity. That responsibility has never been more important.
The UK Pride Organisers Network stands in unwavering solidarity with our Trans and Non-Binary community, alongside our member Pride organisations across the UK. We will continue to champion Pride events that are welcoming, inclusive and safe for all.
