On Tuesday 6th October , we held another one of our very successful coffee mornings for our clients and volunteers at our usual venue The Evangelical Church Horsell.
Tea, coffee and delicious homemade treats were enjoyed by all.
Wonderful to see so many clients and volunteers attend.

We would love to hear from anyone that’s interested in helping co-ordinate the running of these events, only 5 per year. We have lots of volunteers who help make these events happen but are currently missing a co-ordinator☺️If interested , please call our helpline on 07552553414 and leave a message or pass this on to someone who might be interested.

HORSELL CARE- STILL RECRUITING!
Following our recent request for Duty volunteers , we are delighted to have received 2 applications which are currently being finalised.
We are still looking for a couple of people to join our events team who organise catering for our coffee mornings, AGM’s and other events. We would be delighted to hear from anyone that would be interested in helping organise and run the events. It’s about 6 times a year, that’s it and you won’t be on your own!

Please volunteer if you can, it really is great fun. A promise of meeting our fantastic clients and free homemade cakes will hopefully entice you 😁 please call Eileen on 07902662705 if interested.

HORSELL CARE - DUTY VOLUNTEERS AND EVENT HELPERS NEEDED!

We are always actively recruiting driver volunteers but this is a special request. We are in urgent need of Duty Volunteers and event helpers.
Duty Volunteer duties include answering our helpline on one or ideally two days of the month , recording requests and then using our computerised system, Airtable to find volunteers and allocate jobs. This role does not require a DBS but it does require someone who is happy and confident to be trained on the system. It’s very simple to use.

Event helpers- We hold 3 coffee mornings per year for our clients and volunteers, an AGM and for the first time this year a very successful Afternoon Tea. These events are hugely popular and are really enjoyed by everyone who attends.
We need a couple of people on our sub-committee who will take charge of these events. Duties include booking the hall, organising the food and engaging other volunteers to help on the day. If you love baking, you will get a chance to show off your skills, but it’s not necessary to do the job! There are currently 2 people on the sub- committee but we’d like at least 2 more. No DBS required.

On Tuesday 4th August we held our very first Afternoon Tea for our clients in the Evangelical Church, Horsell . It was a huge success with some wonderful comments by our clients about how much they had enjoyed the event.
Our fabulous volunteers were very busy making sandwiches on Tuesday morning with a wonderful varied selection of delicious fillings.
We were very fortunate to have many items donated by local supermarkets which contributed to the event’s success.

We held our AGM on Tuesday 16th June at the Evangical Church, Horsell. We had a full house of clients and volunteers. We had a fantastic lunch, all homemade by our wonderful volunteers.

Emma Wilson from Crossroads Care was our guest speaker this year which was lovely. Once again, we had the brilliant Woking U3A Ukuele Band to entertain us after lunch. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.

We had our Spring lunch yesterday at Squires Garden Centre which was attended by 19 of our clients. A huge thank you to Wendy and Di who did a fantastic job organising everything including lifts for our clients.
A wonderful time was had by all and as always great service by Squires staff.

On Thursday 5th February we had our first coffee morning of 2026 at the Evangical Church, Horsell. We had a fantastic attendance by both clients and volunteers who enjoyed a chat and excellent homemade cakes/cupcakes and biscuits all made by our wonderful volunteers.

The Perfect New Years Resolution!
Got a little spare time this year and not sure how to fill it? Horsell Care would love to hear from you!
We are in urgent need of volunteer drivers to drive our elderly and less mobile clients to their medical and other important appointments. Its totally flexible, as little or as much as you would like to do, no set days just as and when, expenses paid. Will need a current driving licence and will be using your own car. Will also need to go through a DBS check.
