This International Widows' Day, we stand alongside widows around the world, recognising the challenges many continue to face and celebrating the strength, resilience and hope they embody.

Through Mothers' Union's literacy programmes, widows are gaining more than the ability to read and write. They are building confidence, developing new skills and creating opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities.

Education has the power to transform lives, and together we are helping to ensure that widows are equipped with the knowledge and support they need to thrive.
