Wow, what a day and what fun! Plus we won a trophy!🚣🏻🚣🏻🚣🏻🇮🇪🍀🏁💪🏆😅

Thank you Cork Harbour Festival & Ocean to City!

A mix of conditions - wind, rain, strong tides, sunshine, more rain - but a really fun and challenging course, with lots support from shore. Loved every minute - including all the pre & post race festivities.

We will definitely be back, and can perhaps tempt some more Harker's Yard Gigs & Harker's Gig Rowers 🚣‍♂️🚣‍♀️🚣 to join us.

Whilst Defiance was taking on Cork Harbour Festival & Ocean to City in Ireland yesterday, George was in action on home waters for Brightlingsea UCSC’s Max Taylor Cup race with an all women’s crew, featuring some first time racers, finishing an excellent 8th on corrected time against a wide mix of boats and crews.

Defiance is currently “away” having a grand time in Ireland, competing in Cork Harbour Festival & Ocean to City race tomorrow for the first time.

Despite a shortened 22km course due to a wet and windy forecast, the crew have been enjoying the craic and made the most of today’s sunshine heading out into the Celtic Sea for a play in the ocean swell.

We’ll keep you posted how they get on! 🚣🏻☠️🇮🇪🍀💪

And so the sun sets on a sublime bank holiday weekend ☺️

Defiance has made the most of every drop of the early morning and evening tides with training, socials and even a crack of dawn nature row.

Now safely ashore ahead of her next adventure☘️😉

Defiance kicked off her Bank holiday weekend in style with a an idyllic evening row to join Thorrington Mill Vineyard’s pizza and wine evening.

The tide waits for no one so pizzas were begrudgingly sacrificed but a stunning evening amongst the vineyards nevertheless ☀️🍷🚣

We were proud to participate in Brightlingseas Gigfest today. In perfect conditions we completed the 11km course with enthusiasm and finished a very respectable 8th out of 12 gigs that took part and 5th out of the 9 gigs of our class.
What made this even more of an achievement was that we had the only all ladies crew and an inexperienced Cox 💪💪💪

Not quite the balmy temperatures of the weekend but a lovely peaceful morning on the river nevertheless ☀️ Defiance enjoyed a lovely social row with two of our newer rowers getting into the groove 😁

Despite the stormy weather, we welcomed two new rowers today who braved the elements and jumped right into it! Here’s to many more great adventures, rain or shine (but we hope more of the latter!). 🌈💪
