On 15th August 1969 the Woodstock festival began at Max Yasgur’s 600-acre dairy farm with 32 acts performing outdoors over 3 days, often in the rain. Tonight's JLF Bonus Ball winner PQ (with BB square no.7) would, like most of us, love to see some rain ☔️but will have to settle instead for untold riches (£35😅)

On August 8th 1969 photographer Iain Macmillan took the iconic photo* of the Beatles crossing Abbey Road for their forthcoming album cover. This week's JLF Bonus Ball winner Jack doesn't need to cross the road to collect his winnings for choosing BB square no.43! 🎈🎊🎉🧨✨️
*A policeman held up the traffic as Macmillan, from a stepladder positioned in the middle of the road, took six shots as the group walked across the zebra crossing just outside the studio

On 25th July 1909, Louis Blériot made the first flight across the English Channel in a heavier-than-air machine from Calais to Dover, landing near Dover Castle. The flight took 37 minutes and won him a £1000 prize. Also flying high is Sue who has won this week's JLF Bonus Ball (Round 1) with square no.50. Well done, lovely 🥰🎉🎈🎊
