We had a really good inperson meeting. Thank you James for running through the IT Cyber Security Training available. We are currently reviewing empty homes standard, most of previous review recommendations have been met. It was agreed that more information on gifted items has room for improvement and updating.
With an increase in the budget for decorating packs, all new Tenants (not in new build properties) can be offered a decorating pack delivered to their home if they need one.
Did you know that Cottsway’s Community Fund not only supports community projects and events but also offers grants of up to £250 for Cottsway customers, or their family members who live in the same home, to support skills development or learning opportunities? For more information, see:

This year a total of £30,000 is available through our Community Fund. This is accessible to both individuals and new and existing groups and projects.

Had a great meeting via Zoom and realised forgot to put on here about celebrating 25 years for Cottsway, we visited the new build in Carterton, followed by a lovely lunch. It was lovely to meet Board Members and Heads of Department as well as Members of the Maintenance Team who have maintaining our homes for 25 years.

Live in a Cottsway home? Help us improve services for everyone!

We’re a small group of Cottsway residents who work with the housing association to see what’s working well and suggest improvements.

Because we live in Cottsway homes ourselves, we can share honest feedback on what’s working well and what could improve. Recently, we reviewed the process for ending a tenancy and made recommendations to simplify it.

If you live in a Cottsway home, you can help too - either by sharing your views once or getting involved more regularly.

We had a really good in person meeting on Thursday. Shout out to Blaze sorting out our IT problems and supplying mini eggs. (I'm sure he wants to lock himself in a cupboard when he knows we are in the building).

A few members of the group, Vanda, Gill, Steph, Alex and Vicky had a trip to The House of Commons and met up with Shaun Woodcock MP from Banbury.
All said they enjoyed it, bit surprised how small the chamber is as it looks so much bigger on TV.

Well what a busy few weeks one of the highlights was having Anne McLoughlin, recently elected Chair of the Board join in one of meetings, what a lovely lady with a wealth of experience in the housing sector, with some great ideas to improve things.
We finished our Q3 report to present to the board.
There was an extra meeting to discuss wether Scrutiny would contribute to The National Ombudsman STAIRS
(Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements) consultation.
Some Scrutiny members also took a trip to The House of Commons (Photos to follow)

Cottsway will always send you a letter or email, no one should randomly turn up on your doorstep. Be Vigilant and always ask for ID

Has anyone had a young late 20s 30 ish come to there door and say there from cottsways and needed to take photos of your roof because there putting solar panels in I had this today and I rang housing and they know nothing about it so please be careful as it could be a scammers trying there luck I stupidly didn’t ask for ID I’ve reported to 101 as well just a heads up to you all
