Some of the Roses and underplanting have now been planted by the Upton Bloomers on Wednesday 7th October. Also, part of the bed has some new edging put in place - the rest will follow in a couple of weeks.
Some further Roses, Lavender and Nepeta are to be planted hopefully on Wednesday 14th October. This should give a lovely display for Summer 2027.

Thank you to our Upton Ward Councillors Jerry Williams, Stephen Bennett and Jean Robinson for their support with the Wirral Together Fund donation of £700 which has paid for 1500 Jetfire Daffodil bulbs.
The Daffodils have now been planted in the Orchard (opposite the Police Station). Some have also been planted in the grassed areas by Upton Hall School and St Joseph's Primary School.
Roll on a colourful Spring 2027.

Another big thank you to Williams & Bell Funeral Directors in Upton for the £443.33 sponsorship towards our new Rose, Lavender and Nepeta flowerbed in Old Greasby Road by our Upton Village sign. What a generous donation.
Upton in Bloom have already rotovated the area due to loads of tree roots, put down manure and fresh compost and it is now ready for planting.
We will be out planting the new David Austin Roses on Wednesday 7th October.

A thank you from Upton in Bloom for the £40 donation from the Horse & Jockey towards our 'in bloom' projects. We will be replanting the railing and floor planters soon for the winter planting. With compost and plants to buy it will cost approximately £1,500 so any donations are very welcome in order to continue to make Upton 'blooming lovely'.

🍎 Apple Day at Mayfields Woodland Burial Ground

Apple Day has become a really special event in the Mayfields calendar, bringing together the local community, families and friends for a relaxed day celebrating nature, community and everything the beautiful woodland has to offer.

There will be lots happening throughout the day, including:

🍏 Apple picking and apple pressing
🥧 Cake competition
🎶 Music and entertainment
🌿 Local community and greener-living stalls
🚜 Buggy rides around the grounds
🌳 Opportunities to explore the woodland and orchard
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly activities
☕ Plenty of opportunities to meet, chat and enjoy the day

The event is completely free to attend, and everyone is welcome.

CHRISTMAS 2026
As you can see, i am making a number of items the same as last year, and have done my best to keep prices the same where possible.
This year i am planning on making some different grave arrangements and i have some pretty bags for the hyacinth bulbs to go into (lovely teacher gifts).
I have a variety of new containers for fresh and artificial arrangements etc so i'm feeling festive already.
As always - you can choose your own colour scheme/theme for most items.
I'm also planning on being at a couple of Christmas Fairs / Markets this year ... watch this space for dates😁
Collections are now from Upton.
