Contrary to what has been posted earlier, we've been made aware by one of our Winton East Coucillors that Planning went in earlier this year to split the Poundland unit in 2, with Poundland remaining in one and the other going unit going up for rent. , how did you hear about this?

It's a new week at Winton Library, and we're welcoming November with a fresh set of displays - pop in to see what books we've selected for Movember (Men's mental health) and Armistice Day. We've also... whisper it... brought out the Christmas books - just in case anyone's especially keen to get festive! 🎅🤫
All our regular children's events are on (Toddler Time, Wriggle & Rhyme and Chess Club), plus on Thursday we're expecting our Winton East councillors for their monthly surgery. And on Saturday our multi-award-winning (🤩) Garden Volunteers will be sprucing up the library garden, ready for winter. 🌲
Whatever else you're up to this week, we hope you've got a good book on the go! 📚

Brassey Road play area gets an orchard make over! 🌳

BH9 Business Community would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to local residents and Green Party Councillors Joe and Kate Salmon for helping to plant 6 crab apple trees, 3 pear trees and some ornamental grasses at the play area on Brassey Road in Moordown.

It was great to see so many volunteers of all ages come together to plant the trees, which will help enhance this much loved play area 😍

🪑 People visiting Winton library will now be able to take a breather on a new bench, as one has been installed on the new viewing platform.

The tucked-away garden has been transformed and re-opened thanks to the BH9 Business Community, Winton Library Garden volunteers and the council.

Having previously been shut due to anti-social behaviour, local businesses under the guidance of BH9 Business Community chairperson Emma Martineau and Winton Library Garden volunteers led by John Hallett spruced it up.
