We've done it!! We moved!! Winterton Men in Sheds has now officially moved from their previous premises at 8 King Street, Winterton.

Our NEW, larger home, is at Safe Equestrian, Holmes Lane, Winterton, DN15 9UF - just past the Showground.

Our phone number remains the same, as does our email address.

The work now begins sorting out all our tools, equipment and wood stock 🙈.

We have plenty of work to do, but now have 10 times the amount of space. Fancy a look? Why now pop along and see us, we have ample tea/coffee available and who knows - you may even decide to join us as a member!

We have great plans for our new home and hope to share them with you as we grow. C U soon! 😊

Its MOVING DAY on Monday 28th September! Exciting time for Winterton Men in Sheds. We have been working towards this date for the past 3 months and finally after all the hard work its arrived!!
We have dug trenches, laid underground ducting, moved portacabins, shifted 40ft x 8ft containers, installed electricity, installed water, refurbed the portacabin and moved a large number of items.
Its been a journey, but one to be completed on Monday. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has supported us to reach this goal, in particular Anthony, Phil, Grahame, Steve, Lee, Karen and Luke. I'm sure I have missed some other and I apologise. Major thanks to Aaron and Sam at Safe Equestrian who made this move possible.
We will be organising an official 0pening day, so please keep your eyes open because everyone is welcome.
In the meantime enjoy these pictures of helpers renovating our portacabin which will be the main operating communal area and office. If anyone has any questions about our move, please feel free to contact us. Our first day operating from the new Winterton Men in Sheds will be Wednesday 30th September!

Another week gone already?!?!?!
Today is 13th September, we have set our move date for 23rd September which means we only have 10 days to bring our new premises up to scratch. This week we have accomplished quite a lot, but I have b*gg*r*d me back 🙈 which is having an impact on our preperations. Yes I know, I've heard it all this week, why is a 72 year old digging trenches for water and electric ducting etc. etc. (More of this later).
We have managed this week to build a couple of frames ready for new upvc windows that we are fitting this coming week, taken delivery of a new front door for the portacabin also to be fitted this week, laid a new floor in one of our large units and fitted new security and finally got the water hose drawn through the ducting ready to connect. Lots of small fiddly jobs have also been completed. Keith our Chairman is busy with a critically important role at the Shed on King Street packing things ready for the move. He hit a snag in that he ran out of space to place packed boxes/crates. Fortuneatly we have a local hero Lee (Evri man) who came to our aid and moved a large proportion of tools and wood for us, making space to pack more crates. A big thank you to Lee for that rescue! We also want to thank Dan the painter who assisted us in obtaining and delivering our extra wide front door which will enable access for people using mobility scooters and/or wheelchairs.
And finally back to my back 🙄it wasn't the digging that did it, I stretched out to lift a Chop-saw at the Shed and "twang" that did it! So as a consequence I've been shuffling around in exasperating pain, until I called my chiropractor. I managed to obtained an emergency appointment within half an hour of calling them. I arrived and spent a short while on the table whilst Kelly (my chiropractor) examined the problem, and decided some acupuncture was needed together with some pummelling.
That was two days ago and I can honestly say I can now walk again, turn over in bed and stand and sit with only minor pain. I can thoroughly recommend these guys if you suffer mobility problems, try them, their contact details are in one of the pictures attached. The other picture is my feeble attempt at digging a trench! (This was the second one). If there are any able bodied people who can lend a hand next week we have a number of urgent jobs to do (no experience necessary as you will be partnered and supervised). I must add that my partner Lynne (when she realised what I had done to my back fully empathised with "Have you been wearing your underpants outside your jeans again? How old are you? What are playing at?" These kind words where supported by Kelly my chiropractor of course. 🙈 So I have agreed to no more lifting or digging trenches, (this week anyway).

We need your help! To enable us to move premises successfully we would like to borrow some of these trays, if you have any we would appreciate letting us know. If you are unable to drop at the Shed in King Street, we can collect them. We would also like some of these cages on wheels if you some that can be dropped off at our Shed.We will return these once we have moved to our new premises!

Work is progressing fast at the new premises on Holmes Lane! Tony was working on preparing the containers today with his Karcher Jet wash, ready for painting. It was a messy job, but his volunteer spirit to get the job done is greatly appreciated by Shed members.

Anthony is fresh back from holiday and already made an impact on continuing to fit the wallboards inside the Portacabin. Its slow work but the results are impressive!

Lynne has been busy painting and helping with the Portacabin decor, Phil came over from Hull to help Dave B to add new supports to the ceiling and Steve meanwhile was busy removing the huge padded door located inside the container we will use for workshop space.

Keith is busy at the old premises packing things into crates, boxes or anything we can find to move the contents of the Shed. Its a huge responsibilty to take on, but Keith is on the job making sure everything is packed properly so its not damaged during the move.

A huge thank you to everyone for their help to date, there is still plenty to do over the next 3 weeks so its all hands to the pumps! Next is connecting water feed to the cabin and installing electrics, lights, sockets, consumer panel - it never stops! At least we now have a kettle up there and can "ave a brew" 😄 I need a holiday already!!!!
