Hi all - we are trying to keep everyone informed of progress with our new premises, whilst trying to keep the existing Shed open, the Tool Hire going and renovating our new portacabin and other units.
We have now reached the stage where this weekend Kieran once again helped us by re-siting one of our 40ft containers to its new position - huge thank you to him!!
We have now laid a new floor in the portacabin, ripped out all the old electrics and started painting the outside (I have not included pictures of me balancing precariously on a ladder to reach roof height with a paintbrush in one hand a a tine of Hammerite in the other LOL.
We had a glitch this week, where we removed some cable trunking around the top of the cabin - Bigggggggg mistake. All was well until the following day, when we arrived onsite we found that the ceiling had started to droop at the edges.
It appears that the trunking we removed was holding up the ceiling! However, with the help of my brother Phil (another huge thank you) and a quick trip to Wickes, we purchased the necessary wood and fitted it in place before the whole bloomin lot came down. Its all solid now, but that was just another job we had not anticipated.
So now, having waterproofed the floor we turned our attension to the rear cabin windows. We have boarded over and waterproofed 4 windows across the rear of the cabin to give extra security. It's not up to builders standard, but waterproof and nobody is going to see them at the back of the cabin!
This weekend with the help of my partner Lynne, we painted all the woodwork inside that needed glossing in preperation for the ceiling being painted. That task is being done this week and will be completed by Saturday. As the jobs get ticked off my list, more seem to appear from nowhere - (does that happen to you?). Our date for moving in remains the same - sometime mid September, everything crossed of course.
Pictures below do not reflect all the hard work people are currently putting into the portacabin (nick-named Cabin). Enjoy the updated pics.... That's me and my partner working this Sunday gone and my brother Phil making sure the ceiling is secured!!!!
Oh and I painted the front door.
