What a weekend for our Alma Beacon fundraisers! 🏃‍♀️❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who ran the Windsor Half Marathon for Windsor Homeless Project and Windsor Street Angels yesterday. And to the team especially Lesa and Lesley for making it happen.

A special well done to Windsor Street Angels team leader Alice, who ran the Windsor Women’s Run on Saturday to raise funds and awareness for the Angels — after working a full week and volunteering on an overnight Street Angels shift! 💙

Feeling inspired? Run for us. Dance for us. Bake for us. Sing for us. Craft for us. Whatever you love doing, you could turn it into a fundraiser for Windsor Homeless Project, Windsor Street Angels, Windsor Foodshare or Alma Beacon as a whole.

Go, Harry!

We’re delighted that Harry is taking on his very first Windsor Half Marathon in support of Windsor Homeless Project, part of the Alma Beacon charity.

After months of training and steadily building up the kilometres, Harry says he feels ready—and we’ll all be cheering him on when he reaches the start line this Sunday! 👏💪

Every mile Harry runs and every donation he receives will help Windsor Homeless Project continue providing warmth, dignity, friendship and practical support to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in our community.

🏃‍♂️ MEET HARRY –ITS HIS FIRST HALF MARATHON!

When Harry moved to Windsor at the start of this year, he joined his gym’s run club as a way to meet new people.

What started as Sunday runs with a welcoming group of fellow runners soon turned into a much bigger challenge… taking on the Windsor Half Marathon! 🙌

Through his work, Harry already knew about Windsor Homeless Project and our work within the local community, so when the opportunity came to combine his personal goal with raising money for WHP, he says it was a “no-brainer.”

And now, after months of gradually building up the kilometres and adapting his routine around training, Harry says:

“I feel ready!” 💪

This will be Harry’s very first half marathon. He’s hoping to set a time he’s proud of, raise as much as he can for WHP and, whatever happens on the day, come away with a brand-new personal record.

We’re really looking forward to cheering you on, Harry — not long now! 👏🏃‍♂️

We’re incredibly proud of Tony, Kelly and Debs, who are taking on the Windsor Half Marathon in support of our Windsor Homeless Project.

Three friends, one finish line — and one brilliant reason for running.

Every mile they run will help raise awareness and vital funds to support the work of Windsor Homeless Project, helping people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in our local community.

A huge thank you to IHG Hotels & Resorts

We were delighted to be invited to the Windsor HQ to meet their employees and showcase the work of Alma Beacon and our three community projects – Windsor Street Angels, Windsor Homeless Project , Windsor Foodshare

It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about what happens across our charity every week, supporting vulnerable people in our local community – and, importantly, about the amazing volunteers who make so much of this work possible.

And we’re looking for more people to join us!

There are volunteering opportunities across Alma Beacon, but we are particularly keen to recruit new Windsor Street Angels to join the team helping to keep people safe in Windsor town centre on Friday and Saturday nights.
Full training and support are provided.

A big thank you to IHG for giving us the opportunity to spread the word, and to everyone who stopped by to chat, ask questions and find out how they could get involved.

Windsor Half Marathon 27 September - MEET OUR RUNNER – GITA!

Just 9 months ago, running wasn’t a big part of Gita’s life. Now she’s taking on the Windsor Half Marathon for Windsor Homeless Project!

For Gita, this challenge is about much more than crossing the finish line.

Having worked closely with WHP, she has seen first-hand the support the project gives to people going through incredibly difficult circumstances in our local community. That’s why she wanted to turn her own personal challenge into something that could help others too.

“Running is challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, but I love the sense of achievement that comes with pushing myself and doing something I once never thought I could.”

Training is going well — although, in Gita’s words, there are definitely days when her legs don’t agree!

From starting running only 9 months ago to lining up for a half marathon — we think that deserves a HUGE cheer.

Every mile Gita runs will help us raise awareness and vital funds to keep Windsor Homeless Project supporting people who need us.

Go Gita! We’ll be cheering you all the way to that finish line!

Panneer started running in 2015 with a simple 5K, mainly to improve his health.

What he didn’t expect was just how much running would become part of his life.

For Panneer, it’s not simply exercise. It’s his headspace.

Morning runs give him time to think, plan his day and appreciate having the health and ability to run. Evening runs help him leave the stresses of the day behind.

He describes running as his form of meditation and a way of staying grounded.

And we loved what he said about why he’s chosen to use those miles to support Windsor Homeless Project:

“Everyone deserves compassion, dignity and a helping hand.”

For Panneer, running for WHP gives his miles a purpose beyond the finish line.

And perhaps he summed up what our whole team is doing rather perfectly:

“Every mile counts — not just towards the finish line, but towards something bigger.”

Thank you, Panneer. We’re delighted to have you running with Team WHP on 27 September.
