Where would you like to see a EV charging for the community in Swanmore?

Hampshire County Council are keen to help residents who choose electric vehicles as a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petrol and diesel cars.

HCC are currently conducting a survey to find out where residents would like to see EV chargers installed – including outside your home if you don’t have off-street parking!🚘🔌⚡️

You also don’t have to drive an EV to request a charging location, so please click on the below link and complete the survey to tell them where you would like these charge points located.

Well done to the staff and volunteers at St John's along with Hampshire County Council Active Travel Team for dishing up breakfast for pupils at St John's this morning.
The youngsters did an ace job of demolishing the piles of strawberries, watermelon and pastries on Clean Air Day - must be all that activity!

This Kim, our WeCAN project officer, visited St John the Baptist School, Waltham Chase for their Clean Air Day breakfast... celebrating the fact that so many pupils left the car at home to walk and stride, walk, scoot or cycle into school today.

Starting active travel habit young leads to life long habits that are good for our health and our planet. Reducing the cars on the road reduces pollution which contributes to climate change.

Well done to all pupils across the district who have joined in with active travel this week.

What if we put solar panels on every home in our street to create free power for our neighbours?

'Power Station' began in the depths of lockdown, with the question ‘'what could we do from where we live, with the people around us, to build power - of energy and imagination?’

Working to turn a street and local schools solar, Power Station is a scalable in-your-face prototype of community led power. Channelling Withnail and I and Ealing comedy the film charts the financial and emotional trials and tribulations of making change together. From sleeping on rooftops to growing thousands of sunflowers and attempts at Christmas number one, community spirit and resilience are at the heart of this documentary.

We're delighted to be hosting a screening of this film jointly with Parents for the Future Hampshire. We'll be showing this at The Arc, in Wi******er at 7pm on 24 June. Buy your tickets here: https://www.arcwinchester.org.uk/event/power-station
