Guernsey's Lost & Found Pets Guernsey Animal Aid was founded in 1998 by Sue Vidamour as an answer to the feral cat problem in Guernsey. The ponies, the rabbits and guinea pigs.

(We cannot always answer, but if you leave a message, we will get back to you as soon as we can) The cats were interbreeding and this led to a lot of pain and suffering for them. Prior to this Sue had been rehoming horses and dogs for 6 years. In 1998 there were many feral cat colonies on the island so Sue held a meeting about the problem and Guernsey Animal Aid was formed. Since this first meeting over 700 feral cats have been neutered or spayed and the kittens re-homed. Now thanks to the efforts of Sue and the rest of the Guernsey Animal Aid gang, feral cats are a shrinking problem. However it is one that we need to keep on top of and here at Guernsey Animal Aid that’s exactly what we intend to do. Over the years Guernsey Animal Aid expanded and eventually we were taking on all animals, no matter how big or small. We were a rescue center & sanctuary and we never turned an animal in need away. Unfortunately after many years of rescuing animals in need, due to health issues, Sue was no longer able to look after so many animals, even with the help of all the volunteers, so it was with a heavy heart that Guernsey Animal Aid was shut down. We re-homed the animals that were suitable for re-homing. The parrots were all taken to specialist sanctuaries in the UK. It was decided however that we couldn’t stop the work we were doing for feral cats on the Island. If we stopped now, then the problem would come back and the feral cat situation would gradually get out of control again. So any remaining money that had been donated to us before we shut down was used towards this scheme. Since then we have decided to re-open. This time though we would put all of our resources into cats and a few select cases for dogs.

Babycat is missing. She is female, tabby, she is neutered. She was last seen on 9 October 2026 at Pont Vaillant, Vale. Please check any sheds, garages and outbuildings. Babycat has only recently moved to this area, and managed to escape, so she will be unfamiliar with her surroundings. We are absolutely thrilled to remove Dave from the long-lost cat database at GuernseyCats.com!

Dave went missing from Rue de la Terre Norgiot, St Saviours on 14 June 2024, and has been away from his home for more than two years.

But this evening, a lovely gentleman named Shane, concerned about a cat he had found at the Reservoir, kindly called the animal shelter. A quick microchip scan revealed the wonderful news… it was Dave.

After more than two years away from home, Dave seems to have settled straight back in as if he has never been away.
A huge thank you to Shane for taking the time to help a cat in need.

Welcome home, Dave. We couldn’t be happier for you and your family 🐾

There have been sightings of Sooty in the area shown on the attached map, and we desperately need your help!
Sooty became frightened during a house move and has been missing since 10 September 2026 from his home at Maurepas Road, St Peter Port. We have spent weeks watching traps, hoping to bring him to safety. Unfortunately, he isn’t interested in the food in the traps and runs away if anyone approaches him.

We believe Sooty may have found somewhere in the surrounding area to steal food, or that someone may be feeding him. If we can establish where he is getting food, we can put a plan in place to safely get him home.

PLEASE, if you live in or around the area on the map:
🐾 Keep an eye out for Sooty.
🐾 If you think you’ve seen him, please let us know the exact location, date and time.
🐾 If you are feeding a cat that looks like Sooty, please get in touch.
🐾 Please DO NOT chase or approach him, as he is very frightened and will run away.

Please SHARE this post and TAG anyone you know who lives or works in this area. The more people who know about Sooty, the better our chances of finding out where he is hiding and getting him home safely.

Cat hit by a car in Les Gigands, St Sampsons a short time ago. We do not have a description of the cat unfortunately but a witness has said it is clearly injured.

The immediate area is being searched with a thermal monocular, however we would urge everyone in the vicinity to search their property and gardens 🐾
