Everybody loves supporting their local pub. However, we’re lucky enough to have a local pub who supports us.

We want to give a huge thank you to The Bakers Arms, whose fundraising efforts and donations from customers managed to raise an impressive ÂŁ911 to help support our patients.

Over the years, the pub’s continued fundraising has allowed them to raise over £4,000 for Wi******er Hospice.

As beautiful as our hospice garden is, it does sometimes need a little bit of maintenance. Luckily, we have some very dedicated supporters who are always willing to lend a hand.

A massive thank you to volunteers from Abbotts Barton Care Home who gave up their afternoons to clean up of some of the weeds, dead leaves and the awning in our garden, giving it a fresh look.

The Mayor of Wi******er even popped down for a little visit (and a haircut!)

Some people may think we only care for patients within the hospice, however we also have a team of people whose job is to care for those in the community who wish to stay at home.

There can be so much comfort in a cuddle. It's one of the reasons that we fit all our inpatient rooms with a cuddle bed, giving our patients the chance to still have a cuddle with their loved ones during difficult times.

We’re sure September had all of you ready to hang up the walking boots, with our Purple Night Walk and Dominic Kelly walking the three peak challenge. However, there was a group of people who simply couldn’t get enough.

Alana, Callum and George took on Walk the Test Way, walking a very impressive 25.5 miles to help raise vital funds for the hospice. We wanted to say a massive thank you to the team and a huge congratulations on your achievement.

You may have spent some of your weekend working on your garden. Did you want to have a look at ours for inspiration?

It’s Hospice care week this week and we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight the difference your donations help to make.

We wanted to take this opportunity to look at some of the places the funds you raise for the hospice go to. One of these places is our beautiful garden. A calming and tranquil space where our patients and their loved ones can relax, listen to the wind in the trees and take some time somewhere different.

It was originally the Psalms 23 garden which won a gold medal at the 2021 Chelsea Flower Show and, over the years, it has had many different looks and some very interesting guests.

From its construction in November 2021 to snow days in winter and being a wonderful grazing area for Muffin the therapy pony. The hospice would just not be the same without our beloved garden.

And they’re off! Today is the day our team of cyclists from Wi******er RFC head off on their epic journey of over 400 miles, as they take on the Venice to Rome cycling challenge.

Before the team left for five days of beautiful Italian countryside and aching legs, we managed to catch up with them to find out how they were feeling about their upcoming journey ahead.
