My daughter recently gave me this book, (we’re both avid readers), and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the ideas and suggestions of how to change just one thing in your life to make it better. One chapter really struck a chord with me though, as it was about reading. Dr Michael Mosley suggests we should read a book (ideally fiction), for 30 mins a day. He says he absolutely loved reading, and had from a young age. He says he was often spotted walking down the street, reading avidly whilst trying to avoid fellow pedestrians and lampposts. Oh how that resonated with me! Books have been such an important part of my life, I cannot imagine not being able to read, it would leave such a void. One thing we can all do is help those who are struggling to read. Read Easy Wi******er have coaches ready to guide anyone who needs help, and enable them to enjoy reading, whether it be for escapism or entertainment, or for more practical use, like reading recipes, instruction books or posters. Mosley reports that research from Yale University shows that people who read for 30 mins a day live on average 23 months longer than those who did not - the opposite of what happens if you spend the same amount of time watching TV. Food for thought indeed.
If you, or someone you know would benefit from free, non-judgmental coaching, on a one-to-one basis, contact us today. We would love to help.
