Wessex Orchid Society We welcome all those interested in the study and cultivation of orchids.

Bc Amethyst (Cattleya purpurata x Brassavola cucullata)

Two spikes this year each with two blooms

It’s a bit unruly and takes up a lot of window sill space but the rich colour of the blooms make up for it. I’m yet to notice the fragrance however.

Thunia Gattonensis blooming for me for the first time. Huge but very pretty 😍

Flowers more than once a year and it fits on my windowsill.
Sadly never in bloom at the right time for Society competitions but I get to enjoy the blooms and the perfume. Lucky me.
