Emmaus Hampshire is a vibrant and thriving social enterprise community supporting homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded people. We provide a home and meaningful work in the shop, cafe, workshop and warehouse. With the help of the Emmaus team, formerly homeless Companions support each other to get back onto their feet and live independently. Companions say

“There’s hope for all of us with the right help.”

💚 It’s Gift Aid Awareness Day! 💚

💚 A warm welcome to Paula! 💚

We’re delighted to welcome Paula to Emmaus Hampshire as our new Volunteer Coordinator! 🎉

We asked Paula to tell us a little bit about why she applied for the role:

“I moved to Hampshire in the last 12 months and retired from my Corporate HR Role in London. My plan when retired was to Volunteer and I specifically wanted to work for a Homelessness Charity. Emmaus was the perfect fit for me and I really liked the model of the charity. My role as Volunteer Co Ordinator also fitted very well with my HR background. I am delighted to be part of this amazing charity and getting to know everyone that is part of it. I have always been a keen charity shopper and this now gives me even more of an excuse to buy as well as support something brilliant in my local area!”

💚 Have you ever thought about volunteering?

For Graham, volunteering at Emmaus Hampshire is about much more than giving his time. He’s found a sense of community, a chance to use his practical skills and the satisfaction of giving unwanted items a new lease of life. 🔨♻️

Graham volunteers in our workshop, helping recycle, reuse and upcycle donations — and he loves seeing companions get involved, learn new skills and discover what they’re capable of.

🚨 Could you help shape the future of Emmaus Hampshire? 🚨

We’re still looking for a new Chair of Trustees to help lead our charity into its next exciting chapter.

This is a chance to use your senior leadership, strategic and financial experience to make a real difference to people who have experienced homelessness.

Working alongside our Board of Trustees, you’ll help set our direction, support sustainable growth, strengthen our income generation and make sure we continue delivering the best possible support to the residents in our community who are recovering from homelessness.

We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, collaborative, compassionate and ready to make a difference. Experience in charity leadership, business, social enterprise, fundraising or homelessness would be valuable but it's not essential.

📍 Based in Wi******er, with hybrid Board meetings
🤝 Voluntary role
⏰ Around 3 days per month
📅 Applications open on a rolling basis until October 2026
