We would like to bring to everyone's attention the start of public consultation today on the Hurst Spit to Lymington Strategy, which covers the proposed long-term approach to coastal management of this area.
A range of in-person events will take place between June and September, alongside two online webinars. Full details of dates, times, and locations can be found on the attached poster.
These sessions provide an opportunity to:
· Learn more about the proposed long-term approach to coastal management
· Speak directly with members of the Strategy Team
· Share their views and provide feedback on the Draft Strategy
As we all know, this section of coastline is very important to many bird species. Many of you visit the area often and I am sure that like me, you will want to better understand the extent of the coastal management proposals and the planned pathway to their implementation. While each of the coastal management projects outlined in the Strategy will be subject to the relevant planning approval processes in the years to come, the basic concepts for each management area will be based on the pathways outlined in the Strategy documents issued today.
Everything you need to see can be accessed here:

While HOS is a member of the Stakeholder Advisory Group for this project and will respond to the Draft Strategy proposals, I would encourage all HOS members to engage in the public consultation process to better understand the full implications of this major development.
Thanks
