We're excited to be working with Jordan at Marley & Co pet supplies Winchburgh who are now supplying our hens with premium food! The poultry mix includes peas, wheat, flaked maize, whole grains, dried grass and oyster shell grit 🐓

Great community partnership with Jordan finding a great product for an amazing price - especially when they consumed 24kg of food in August alone!

Last week we had a visit from Armadale Academy and the home economics teacher Ms Karagianni. The engaging pupils enjoy their first visit to Auldcathie where they had a full tour, picked produce and sowed seeds in their planter!

They also brought two fruit trees which were planted in the volunteers area.

No visit would be complete without meeting the chickens, feeding them and collecting eggs which they took back to school and made freshly picked smashed potatoes with rosemary, jammy poached eggs and radish pickle 👏

Volunteers will soon be saving eggs for the Winchburgh Farmers Market on 12th Sep...Each egg will be stamped with the date it was laid in Winchburgh - Will you be lucky enough to have a double yoker in your half dozen? 🥚

Thanks to everyone who came to feed the chickens from the vending machine, they loved the treats through the net!
Loads growing on today with volunteers treats today being slushies with the warm weather 🌻
Lots of painting, weeding, planting, mealworm farming, watering and people enjoying their community garden...

🐔 Did you know our hens are monitored 24/7 by Chicken Coop Cam? Our chicken carer volunteers have access to view them and control the camera to ensure their welfare and wellbeing!

Making sure they go to bed when it's not possible to be with them - Happy hens means delicious daily fresh eggs...
