The students have been busy harvesting the latest veggies at school. It was even decided to sell some, to raise money to buy seeds for growing the next crop! Of course everyone that helps gets to take some greens home to cook with their families and add nutrition to the family meal. Great job kids!

Kimleang, one of our ex students, recently completed her course in pedagogy and teaching methods. She has joined us teaching Grade 1. How fantastic to have one of our original students now back to teach the children in her community!

The main road in front of CCC School has become increasingly busy with vehicles and fast driving. It was a concern for the safety of the children, so a new gate has been opened at the back of the school and the path cleared so that the students have easy access in safety to the local village. Of course as usual there were many helping hand to prepare the sand for the entrance and pathway.

A few days ago CCC School was visited by members from the CIA Interact Club. They donated 50 reading books and 70 lunchboxes and spent time playing games with the students, and talking with them. It is great to see young people at the school. It brings great energy and many happy faces! Thanks so much to everyone at the CIA Interact Club

The community that makes CCC School so special have recently helped out to improve the facilities and ground around the school! Some parents of children at the school have donated tables and benches, where kids and parents happily gather to chat and share a meal. Also trucks of gravel have been delivered to flatten and cover the ground around the school, making it more attractive and practical for use. Thanks so much to all these parents for their kind generosity!

On Monday this week we had a wonderful visit from Dr Diana J. Haladay and a fabulous group of AUPP University students. They donated many reading books for the library, and lots of other education supplies, and spent time playing games with the children at CCC School and handing out the donations. One student, Chesda, also made personal donations from himself and his family Lok Chumteav Neak Oknha Srey Vuthy, Neak Oknha Srey Ngoun and Lok Chumteav Nim Thida. A special thanks to this family for their kind generosity.

Before the start of the school term, there is always so much to do! Five of our teachers attended government training for reading and Maths for early years grades 1-3. Uniforms for our students all have to be sorted out and handed out, plus books and supplies. Then there are the secondary school students we support. They need their uniforms and books, as well as some of them picking up bicycles for the journey to and from school. The photos will give you a glimpse into what our fabulous team do for the community!!

During this school year we had our new toilet block built, as well as a large stand alone set of sinks alongside the toilet block. The sinks are set at 2 different heights to accomodate children from Kindergarten to Grade 6! This has been needed for some time, and it is great to see the students gathering around to brush their teeth and wash their hands everyday. As we know dental hygiene and handwashing prevent many diseases, and it's great to see the bright smiles of the students with their lovely clean teeth!
