Today marks the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - a time to create the focus and awareness needed to drive change. Awareness fuels vital community support that help families navigate financial hardship, emotional stress, and seemingly endless hospital appointments.
Around 1,900 children aged 0-14 are diagnosed with cancer across the UK each year, and behind every statistic is a child missing school, missing playtime, and spending months in hospital rooms undergoing painful treatments.
The children we support always remain our focus. They never cease to amaze us with their strength, resilience, and positivity in the face of darkness. This month we celebrate the incredible children who face every treatment, hospital visit, and side effect with a superhuman strength and let them know that they are never alone β€οΈ
There are lots of ways you can help to drive awareness and change this September:
GO GOLD: Show your support by wearing something gold this month. It could be a gold ribbon pin, accessory or outfitβ¦ anything goes! Donβt forget to share your photos online and use ποΈ
SPREAD AWARENESS: Follow us and share our posts on social media and explain why you are supporting CWCF this September. Encourage your friends and followers to join you in making a difference!
FUNDRAISE: Host a fundraising event. It could be a coffee morning with friends and family, or maybe you want to set yourself a challenge and do a sponsored run! No matter the event, pop into the office or call 01323 488561 for more information about organising a fundraising event for us.
VOLUNTEER: If you have a spare few hours during the week or the weekends why not donate some of your time to helping a charity and volunteer at events. We're always keen to have people help out at our events! Get in touch today and become a CWCF volunteer.
DONATE: Donations make a huge difference to the work we do here at CWCF. We simply wouldnβt be able to function without them. Your donation can help provide a family holiday at one of our caravans, grant wishes for families and help our families with any unexpected expenses.
