It's that time of year again 😃

The Wigtown Community Shop volunteers are busy, as ever, doing the wonderful work they do to make lots of things possible in our community 👏

Good luck to all the applicants!

This morning our volunteers met to discuss the 77 applications for funding which we received. Thanks to Anne, our secretary, for getting the forms collated so quickly.

The tired, hard-working souls over at Wigtown Shindy would appreciate a few moments of your time to gather some feedback and help plan next year's event.

I can't believe that it's already a week since the Shindy! I hope everybody has recovered. Having had a little time to reflect, it would be great if you could take a few moments of your time to complete our survey so that we can see how we did. Also, so that we can improve things for next year (too soon?).

Here's the link, please do let us know what you enjoyed, what the best bits were and what we can improve on, plus suggestions for next year.

The second project is looking to create a learning hub, creating new jobs in the town as well as developing a community transport service.

We have two projects being put forward, the first one is looking at providing more affordable housing.

19/08/2026

Drop in to the County Buildings today 2:30 to 7:30 to speak with DGC and the WBCI Board about the proposed projects being put forward for Borderlands funding.

Hats off to all the volunteer organisers of the Wigtown Shindy. Another huge effort has gone into pulling off another epic live music festival for the whole community. 👏👏👏

As they have a well earned rest and start planning for next year, we encourage anyone interested in offering financial support to get in touch with them via their page.
