Today, we had a visit from the Mayor of Wigan Borough, Councillor Jenny Bullen and her consort, Andrew Bullen.

She introduced herself and described the interesting experiences and challenging roles she has enjoyed in her post.

Her chosen charities for the mayoral year are All Ears MHA and Curious Minds.

They both mingled with our members, discussing a range of topics.

Some of our members recently visited the Hinds Head, Charnock Richard, Chorley.

Having a hearing impairment certainly does not compromise enjoying a lovely lunch!

Thanks to the National Lottery funding, we can lead satisfying independent lifestyles, surrounded by an enjoyable group of enthusiastic people.

Some of our members recently visited the Guide Dogs Centre in Atherton, Wigan.

One of the presenters was not only blind, but also deaf. Her story and presentation were thoroughly enjoyable.

Well, although our members may struggle with hearing loss, this does NOT stop them from enjoying life!

Today, ten of our members were very fortunate to enjoy a quick cuppa and cake at the Postcode Coffee House in Wigan https://www.facebook.com/PostcodeCoffeeHouse?ref=py_c #

The service, atmosphere and selection of cakes provided were all excellent!

Thank you to everybody at the Postcode Coffee House for making this such an enjoyable occasion.

A quick thank you must also go to Forever Manchester and the National Lottery Community Fund for their continuing support.

If you suffer from a hearing loss or know of anyone who does, lipreading may be of considerable help. Contact us, you will be surprised by what you learn and how many new friends you will meet!

This is what I’ve been up to day recycling our 🌲 Christmas tree into a bird feeder and filling it will left over fruit from Christmas cranberries, blueberries 🫐 dates cereal, cherries 🍒 oranges 🍊 coconut 🥥 oil and bird seed.
