not for profit multi-arts venue which aims to bring innovative art, music, comedy, dance and spoken word to Wigan. Our building was built is 1887 and retains much of its original charm, including a Victorian courtroom and adjoining prison cells. It currently houses a theatre, gig space, Victorian courtroom, creative studios, bars and a cafe. As a not-for-profit, all of your ticket, drinks, venue hire, and donation money go back into the project!

Are you looking for space?

Our Space to Engage scheme supports community groups, CICs and charities to use our spaces for free or at heavily discounted rates.

The scheme is designed for organisations looking to engage with the community, whether through mental health support groups, creative workshops, cultural activity or other community-led projects.

If you would like to apply for our funding to help subsidise your hire fee, please complete the application below. Funding is limited and not guaranteed.

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis.

A few unexpected gaps have appeared in our summer diary, which means we've got some last-minute availability in our Court Room over the next couple of months.

If you're planning a meeting, summer club, training day, networking event, product launch, filming project, fundraiser, community gathering or even a celebration, we'd love to hear from you.

The Court Room is one of the most flexible spaces at The Old Courts and has hosted everything from public consultations and business events to charity conferences, creative projects and private parties.

Damsens are a 3 piece Liverpool alt/noise rock band who aim to deliver high energy performances and an intense live atmosphere. we include big riffs, upsettingly loud guitars and big catchy chorus.Pulling influences from all sorts of music to create a unique yet blistering amalgamation of noise.What was that, why are they doing that, will they ever stop?
