☕💙💛 A few friendly faces joining us at Our Pride this morning! 💛💙

We're looking forward to welcoming Katie and Rachel, Hope School & College's new Deputy Headteachers, who will be popping in to say hello and meet some of our lovely families! 🥰

We'll also be joined by Jen, school nurse, who will be dropping by for a little catch-up too.

They won't be staying for the whole morning, but it'll be a lovely opportunity to put faces to names, say hello and have a quick chat.

So if you're coming along this morning, we look forward to seeing you for a cuppa and a catch-up! ☕💙💛

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING IS BACK! ✨🎄

I know, I know… we’re only just heading into October and Christmas still feels soooo far away! 😂🎅

BUT… before we know it, the Christmas songs will be playing, the mince pies will be out and we'll all be wondering where the year went!

So this year, come and join us for a lovely Christmas Wreath Making session with Our Pride & Hope Parent Group at Hope School & College. 🎄❤️

Come along, have a cuppa, get creative and make your very own Christmas wreath to take home and proudly hang on your door. And don't worry if you don't think you're creative — you absolutely don't need to be! 😂 We'll help each other along the way.

It's also a lovely excuse for us parents and carers to get together, have a good catch-up, probably eat something we shouldn't 🍰☕️ and enjoy a little bit of festive time for ourselves before the Christmas madness begins!

🎨 No experience needed — just come and have a go!

🤟💙 SIGNALONG FOUNDATION COURSE 💙🤟
Hope School and College are offering a Foundation Course in Signalong.
📍 Hope School & College – Radio Room
📅 Tuesday 17th November
📅 Tuesday 24th November
⏰ 9:30-11:30
The course will be delivered by Tina from Speech & Language, who will introduce us to Signalong and show us how it can be used to support communication.
🤟 So, why Signalong?
Signalong is a key word sign-supported communication system, based on British Sign Language (BSL), which is used alongside spoken language.
It combines speech, signs, body language, facial expression and tone of voice, helping to support understanding and communication.
Signalong can be particularly helpful for people with communication difficulties, as well as those for whom English is an additional language.
It can give children another way to express themselves, make choices, understand what is being communicated and, most importantly, have their voice heard. 💙
Whether your child already uses signs or you’re completely new to Signalong, this is a great opportunity to learn some practical skills that you can use at home, at school and in everyday life.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This course is open to anyone supporting a child with additional needs/SEND.

☕️ 💛💙We’re back! 💙💛☕️
The school holidays are over, so it’s time for our first Our Pride coffee morning of the new term! 🎉
Come along, grab a cuppa, have a natter and enjoy a catch-up with other SEN/additional needs families. 🥰
Children, parents, grandparents, carers — everyone is welcome! There’s no need to come alone or know anyone beforehand… just come as you are.
Because sometimes a cuppa, a chat and knowing you’re not alone is exactly what we all need. ☕️🫶

🌳💚 OUR PRIDE FOREST SCHOOL SESSION – CANCELLED 💚🌳
We’re so sorry to have to share some disappointing news. 😔
Unfortunately, Wise Oak Forest School have had to cancel our session 26th August due to the current weather conditions and safety warnings.
🌬️ Strong wind gusts are predicted, along with a thunderstorm warning. In the event of a thunderstorm, the woodland would need to be evacuated, which simply wouldn’t allow our children and families to enjoy the safe, relaxed experience we had planned.
There is also currently a fire ban in place, meaning we wouldn’t be able to have one of the biggest highlights of our session — getting together around the fire and toasting our marshmallows! 🔥🍫
Wise Oak have sincerely apologised for the inconvenience, but their priority is, quite rightly, keeping all of our children and families safe. They also really wanted us to have the opportunity to experience everything their wonderful woodland has to offer, rather than having to restrict the session because of the weather and fire ban.
💚 The good news is that we WILL be rescheduling our Forest School adventure for a later date! 🌿
We know how much our children were looking forward to this, and we're just as disappointed. But we promise we'll get another date arranged so they can enjoy den building, nature exploration, crafts, rope swings, hammocks and, of course, those all-important toasted marshmallows! 🔥🍡
💷 All payments will be refunded as soon as possible.
Thank you all so much for your understanding. We know how important these opportunities are for our children and families, and we can't wait to get back into the woods together when the conditions are safe. 💚🌳

💙💛 **OUR PRIDE MUMS ARE TAKING ON THE WIGAN 10K!** 💛💙

On **6th September**, a group of our amazing Our Pride mums will be taking part in the **Wigan 10K** to raise funds for our self-funded group.

Every donation will help us continue providing **activities, events and experiences** for our children and families. 💙
