All nine kittens from the Star Wars and the pop star litters have started off their first vaccinations today.

We went to see the lovely new building for Rutland house where Rutland Bryn vets and Rutland Haydock have joined forces into one new building.

We had a grand tour and it was amazing 😻

It was lovely to see past work colleagues and have a catch up and of course to see Mara the vet, she’s our favourite Italian cat vet 💕🐈‍⬛

All nine kittens were checked and given their vaccinations they did really well and were very brave! The kittens are back with their mummies now telling them all about it.

The kittens will soon start to be advertised, we only adopt out once they have finished their vaccinations and they have been neutered and chipped, this is around 16 weeks old.

In the meantime we will start to sort out the mummies, let the milk dry up and get them their spay 🐾

Hilary is a truly dedicated member of our fundraising team.

We all know she is never far away with the familiar rustle of a cello bag, some trusty Boots hand wash, and her endless collection of plastic tubs! 😉

We honestly wouldn't know what to do without you, Hilary.

Maggie and the Pop Star kittens are doing well.

We’ve spent several weeks treating Maggie and trying to get her bowels back to normal. With liquid diarrhoea, it’s essential to keep everything clean, as it can quickly spread to other animals and even humans, so gloves are a must!

Today we’ve started to see an improvement, so hopefully the treatment has worked 🤞

The kittens have gained weight beautifully, have been successfully weaned onto food, and their stools are looking great.

They’ll be starting their vaccinations next week, and hopefully we can begin moving them into foster homes, giving mum a well-earned rest before she is neutered.

Maggie has been a wonderful mum throughout, even after the heartbreaking loss of one of her kittens from the litter.

Fingers crossed we’ve got them through the worst of it now 🐾

Maggie and the pop star kittens want to thank people for all the donations, toys and food people have been buying for them, they have been completely spoiled 💕

Here's Forrest (B&W) and Jenny, both of whom have been poorly but seem to be on the right side of things now. They're best friends, just like in the film! Forrest isn't gaining weight as we would like so we are a little worried about him. We have also been to the vets about their brother Lt Dan who has been off his milk and a little subdued today. Thankfully Bubba seems to be doing ok so far. Back to the vets in the morning to check how things are.
Hand rears are such a worry!
