We're all on the edge of our seats - but for some women, the World Cup brings a greater level of fear.

Research shows that when England win or draw a football match, domestic abuse incidents increase by 26%. If they lose, this rises to 38%.

There's no excuse for abuse, and everyone deserves to be safe.

If you need help, contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline: 0808 2000 247 - or in an emergency, always call 999.

This Volunteers' Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, compassion, and energy to support others.

We know that behind every conversation, every act of kindness, every listening ear, and every moment of encouragement is someone who has chosen to make a difference.

Our volunteers help create safe spaces, offer hope, and remind people that they are not alone. Their willingness to serve others has an impact far beyond what they may ever see.

Whether you volunteer with us, support us behind the scenes, or give your time to help others in your community, we celebrate you this week.

💜 Thank you for your kindness.
💜 Thank you for your commitment.
💜 Thank you for being part of bringing hope and restoration to others.

"Serve one another humbly in love." — Galatians 5:13

The BBC's latest Panorama documentary is deeply troubling, bringing to light significant failures in the protection of female contestants on Channel 4's Married At First Sight.

Marriage does not mean consent. Women should always be able to say no without fear of violence. Allegations of r**e and assault must be taken seriously.

We join the call on Channel 4 to conduct a thorough investigation into these reports, placing the welfare of survivors at the centre. Changes must be made to keep women safe, hold perpetrators accountable, and ensure that violence and abuse are never tolerated or excused, whether on reality TV shows or in any other space.

We want to see a culture that empowers women and celebrates safe, healthy relationships - not one that uses abusive behaviour as entertainment.

If you need support, help is out there. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is open 24/7 at 0808 2000 247, and the Restored Survivors Network is here to walk alongside you as you access support.

We know the importance of connection; of a friendly face and a safe, welcoming space, of gentle conversations that help overcome loneliness and ease a person's mood.

This is why this World Health Day, we're celebrating the role of connection in everything we do, helping us feel happier, seen, and more fulfilled.

Connection is key, but it doesn’t have to be a huge gesture.

Sometimes it’s a smile, a message, a moment of listening.

Small acts. Real impact. 🧡

As we remember Jesus' death on the cross today, we worship a God who is not distant from our pain and suffering. We can come to Him knowing that he understands and identifies with us - however weak or unworthy we feel.

As we look to the cross, we can be assured of God's great love and kindness towards us, and his deep desire for us to live in freedom - and we know that Sunday is coming.
