Wigan Scuba Divers We are a diverse group of divers, operating as a non-profit BSAC Scuba Diving branch in Wigan. Coming soon: Events page with our dive trips.

Our socials are on Tuesdays from 20:00 at Whelley Ex-Servicemen's Club, 180 Vauxhall Rd, Wigan WN1 3LU, our pool sessions on Friday evening at Wigan Life Centre Newly founded in January 2024 We are a Wigan based Scuba Diving Club, BSAC branch no 2657. Mission statement:
To deliver high standard training with pride, put safety in every stride. We will sea to it that diving becomes a welcoming world

At Wigan Scuba Divers, we envision a welcoming community where scuba becomes accessible to all. Together, we will redefine the boundaries of what is possible underwater and cultivate a safe yet adventurous environment where every member, regardless of physical ability, feels empowered to explore their depths and discover self-transformation through weightless underwater exploration. We aspire to engage underrepresented groups, including youth, minorities, and individuals with disabilities, to dive into the endless possibilities that embody the values of diversity and inclusivity and make the wonders under the waves equal to all. We intend to undertake initiatives to transform scuba from a sport once perceived as exclusive into one that is accessible and inclusive for all.

Huge congratulations to our very own Ocean Diver, Pauline Shaw, who’s featured in the latest edition of SCUBA Magazine!

At 75 years old, Pauline continues to inspire every single one of us at Wigan Scuba Divers. Her journey — overcoming challenges, chasing a lifelong dream, and qualifying as a BSAC Ocean Diver — has now been recognised on a national stage.

Seeing her story in print is a proud moment not just for Pauline, but for our whole club.
This is what determination looks like. This is what community support can achieve.
This is Wigan Scuba Divers.

Fun and games at club meeting last night 🤿
Liam finished his ocean diver theory 👏whilst Patryk started his for the beginning 👌. Our equipment officer Jeff won the raffle 🎟️ to pick a key to open the box but sadly failed to choose the correct key 🔑 so the prize fund increases and rolls over to next week ! 💰💰

What a night ! Lots of drinks and lots of laughs with fantastic people. At Wigan scuba divers we don’t just dive, we host some amazing social nights too. Out around in Chorley and then back to Wigan to hit the clubs were we ran into TV celebrity Shannon Lavelle and friends who disclosed to us that she has always wanted to scuba dive, so guess who will be joining us in the pool for try dive experience 🤿🎬⭐️
