IAM RoadSmart Solent IAM RoadSmart Solent is a motorcycling group affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM RoadSmart).

We are based at the Wickham Community Centre, so if you live in the area, enjoy riding your bike and meeting other riders and are keen to continuously improve your riding skill, we are just what you are looking for. We are a busy club that offers its members a wide range of activities including ride-outs, or group events, every Sunday throughout the year and a Club Night on the 2nd Tuesday of each

month. We also host a very successful `Open Sunday` on the 1st Sunday of each month from March to November, where we offer free Assessed Rides to the public.

IAM Roadsmart Solent Annual Hog Roast started off with a fantastic Scatter Rally organised by Rupert Hill. 20 participants took part and all had a whale of time. A brilliant addition to our arsenal of fun things to do on a motorbike!
We shared the day with Solent Advanced Motorists so we could celebrate the IAMs 70th Birthday. As you can see, it was standing room only for the opening address.
A massive thank you to Craig, Dee and all those who volunteered to set up and sort stuff out. Without you the day would not have been possible. Thank you to SAM for providing the cake and to all those members and guests who supported the day - next year we'll try not to have it the same weekend as BSB! 🙄

Has anyone heard of the only car manufacturer in Eastleigh or seen any of their cars? They only made 102 cars between 1964 and 1967. Derek Baker was closely involved with the development of the car and is going to tell us the full story behind this very attractive car and its animal badge!

What a fantastic afternoon for our IAM RoadSmart Solent Level 1 ride! 🏍️ Sixteen riders set off from Otterbourne at 12.30pm after another great First Sunday meeting, where coffee, bacon rolls and plenty of banter got everyone in the mood for a ride. It was brilliant to welcome a real mix of guests, associates and members as we headed south of Wi******er before enjoying the superb roads through Twyford, Morestead, New and Old Alresford, then back west via Micheldever, Crawley, Sutton Scotney and on towards Stockbridge. Unfortunately, our planned finish was interrupted by the Trout 'n' About Summer Fair, which had much of Stockbridge closed to traffic, so everyone said their farewells there and made their own way home. Fantastic roads, fantastic company and great riding throughout – what's not to like? 😊🏍️

A fantastic day was had by quite a few IAM RoadSmart Solent members at the IAM Skills Day at Thruxton Circuit. Building on IPSGA and practicing precision and smoothness on an incredibly grippy surface was a very useful experience and highly recommended.
