Chas & Dave - finally living the good life!

These two boys were living a pretty miserable existence in a kennels where even the most basic needs were not being met. I had to choose which 2 Greyhounds take, which is never an easy thing to have to do, but I chose two of the older big black dogs. Dave being 7, and Chas being almost 8.
They both looked so sad. Dave's eyes were pleading with me to take him.
I named them Chas & Dave, even though they wasn't a 'pair'!
It felt so good to get them back to our kennels on nice soft beds in clean kennels with plenty of good food. They were both underweight, very smelly and in need of urgent dentals - especially Dave, who's mouth was absolutely rotten. I think he had really suffered with his bad teeth.
These boys were both completey shut down, but with lots of TLC and time, i knew it wouldn't be long before their lovely personalities would shine through.
They both ended up needing teeth extractions, and as we thought, Dave lost a lot of teeth. But you could tell he felt so much better once all those bad teeth were out.
Although the boys had not shared a kennel, they were walked together every day here, and were next to eachother in their kemnels & paddocks. Dave seemed to bond closely to Chas, and was always happy to be in Chas' company. Chas wasn't really bothered if Dave was with him or not, but we didnt tell Dave that!
The boys continued to blossom, both physically & mentally.
Then the time came when they were ready to find homes.
Steve & Dianne, who had rehomed several Greyhounds from us over the years, had recently lost their last Castledon Greyhound, so they got intouch to say they were ready to rehome another Greyhound.
I told them about Chas & Dave, hoping they might consider one of these very deserving boys. We arranged for them to come and meet them, which they did, and once they met, Steve & Dianne quickly decided they would adopt them both! How lovely! I was so pleased for Chas & Dave.

Both boys have settled into their new world really well and are loving their new lives πŸ₯°

***** There are so many other Greyhounds desperately needing out of where Chas & Dave came from. But we can only help so many at a time and to keep doing this we need your help. Plesse Adopt, Foster, Donate if you can. Thank you so much *****

In loving memory of Dale Kirk πŸ’™

A few weeks ago we lost a very special member of our team. Dale had been a big part of Castledon Greyhound Rescue for 20 years, and was one of our Trustee's. He was the best Greyhound Dad, and all the dogs adored him. They knew what a kind, special person he was.
Today we say our final goodbye's to Dale.
Dale was one of the best, and he will be greatly missed by us all xxπŸ’”xx

We desperately need foster homes. Can you help by fostering a Greyhound? πŸ™

Fostering is extremely rewarding and does make such a difference.

Please do consider fostering one of our lovely Greyhounds.

Some of the benefits of fostering;

* We cover all essential costs
* You'll get all the joys of having a Greyhound lighting up your life, without any of the commitment. The dogs remain our responsibility throughout.
* Fostering is a great opportunity to make a real difference to the life of a Hound.
* Frees up kennels space for other Greyhounds to come into rescue.
* You'll give the dog valuable experience of home life, and when it comes to finding them their forever home, we'll have a much better idea of the type of home they are most suited to.
* We will always be available to give you any advice or support when needed.

Oh, and did we mention that you get to have a temporary best friend to fill your life with joy and laughter?!

This handsome boy is Maverick, a brindle lurcher boy aged just 12 months old.

His future was looking very bleak at one point after he found himself dumped because he wouldn't 'work'.
He's a very sad looking boy at the moment, he just wants loving ❀️

🐾 Cat trainable - low prey drive

🐾 Dog friendly

🐾 Fine around children (6 years plus)

🐾 Walks perfectly on the lead

🐾 lovely temperament

If you can give this lovely young boy the home he deserves, please get in touch.
Or if you could offer Maverick a temporary foster home 🏑

This boy needs the light putting back in his eyes.

This gorgeous boy is our 6 year old Bruiser.
He's a strapping lad with a gentle nature. Although he's a big lad he's got a lovely temperament and really will make a super pet. As you can see, his ears have a mind of their own!! πŸ’™

Introducing beautiful Margot ❀️
Please help us find our lovely Margot a home.

Please share this post to all your family & friends..

Margot is a white & black Greyhound girl, aged 4 years.
She is a very friendly girl, who would really like to start her new life in a home. She has had a long racing career and now really deserves to enjoy some home comforts and have her own humans to love.

She is excellent travelling in the car, lays down & goes to sleep. Not a peep out of her, even on a long journey.

She loves her food - no waste or fussiness with this girl!

Walks absolutely perfectly on the lead. Extremely easy to walk.

Clean in her kennel

Loves to finish off your cup of tea - see pic!!

She recently had a visit to my friends house, which she thoroughly enjoyed!

Margot would be very happy being an only pet, or she would quite happily share a home with another pointy nose.

PLEASE SHARE FAR & WIDE.

Im happily to travel for a good home 🏑

Thank you ❀️
