Pop along to our drop in session taking place on 5th September 2026 at 11.30am - 1.30pm. This is being held at Wickersley Community Centre, come along to find out more about the role of a Parish Councillor and whether it could be the role for you!

Becoming a Parish Councillor is a great opportunity to make a difference to your local community.

There is no pressure to sign up or commit to anything, just the opportunity to find out more and ask any questions you may have.

*REMINDER: Please do not dig holes in the woods.*

With the summer holidays in full swing, the below issue has become even more prevalent. We have been made aware of people attending the woodland areas with spades and shovels, creating deep holes which are a danger to other users, damages tree root systems and disturbs the delicate woodland ecosystem and habitats.

We would like to remind everyone that there is a dedicated pump track facility at Bob Mason Recreation Ground, Sorby Way, where the kids can go to enjoy the same experience on their bikes, whilst preserving the woodland.

Whitestone Solar Farm are holding a sign up day on Friday 21st August at different locations across the area, to help residents register to take part in the upcoming examination process in relation to the solar farm planning application affecting the local area.

You must register as an ‘interested party’ to submit your feedback on the project to the Examining Authority and speak at public hearings - the sign up sessions will help people to do this.
