The WDPL Youth Pool Academy are pleased to announce we have sufficient PVG licenses in place to accommodate up to 30 kids in our 'Come Try' sessions.

The first session will take place in Wick Youth Club on Friday 22nd May from 6-8pm. Depending on number of attendees it may be extended to 9pm.

Please, note we are limited to having only 2 pool tables at this time, so to help us organise groups and coaching levels correctly, we ask parents to register their child (if under 16) in advance:

NOTE: Due to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we ask for these parents to state the following details in a comment below this post.
Alternatively, these details along with the child's name can be sent through messenger or WhatsApp.

• Age

• Current ability level at pool

Ability Levels:

• Novice – Never tried pool before

• Beginner – Knows the basics of using a cue, can pot balls after a few attempts, but does not understand the rules

• Developing / Improver – Can cue reasonably straight, pots simple balls consistently, understands the basic rules of pool, can think about shot selection, but is still learning consistency and match play.

We’re delighted to launch the Wick and District Pool League - Youth Pool Academy, aimed at introducing young players to the game and helping them develop their skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Open to all abilities from age 10 to 18
Whether you’re picking up a cue for the first time or already have some experience, everyone is welcome.

No experience is necessary — just bring enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and enjoy the game.

Our sessions will focus on:

* Basic skills and technique
* Sportsmanship and confidence
* Match play and progression

Our goal is to create a clear pathway for young players in Wick and Caithness to grow, compete, and represent the area in the future.

If you’re interested in joining, or want to find out more, feel free to message the page.
