📢 Important Announcement – Penguin Parents PTA - Closure & Future of Fundraising 📢
It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of the Penguin Parents PTA at the end of this school term (today)
Despite our best efforts & lots of hurdles, the current committee has decided to step down, and unfortunately, no one has come forward to take on the PTA role. Without a new committee, the PTA cannot continue, and so we will be closing.
While a traditional PTA requires a formal structure, rules, and a committee, a ‘Friends of’ group could be a more flexible way to continue fundraising in the future. This would allow parents and carers to organise events and support the school without the same level of responsibility and administration that comes with a PTA. If anyone is interested in exploring this option, we encourage you to speak with the school.
Over the last 2 years, we have worked hard to support the school and create special experiences for the children. Thanks to your generosity and involvement, we have been able to provide:

✔ Ice poles for all children after Sports Day 🏅
✔️Bird boxes for around the school 🐦✔ Contributions towards the Young Voices coach 🎶
✔ Teddy gifts for EYFS children🧸
✔ Leavers’ hoodies for Year 6 👋
✔ Forest School & Playground Pals equipment ⛺️🐧
✔ Christmas decorations for the classrooms 🎄
✔ May Fayre support – cooking & stalls 🍔🍟
✔ Glass Art & Wreath Making sessions 🖼️
✔ Santa gifts for KS1 🎅
✔ Two fantastic Christmas Fayres! 🎄🎅🤶
✔️ EYFS farm trip coach 🐷🐑🐔
Our decision was a hard one, which was back in March but we have continued fundraising until the end of term, selling off remaining stock.
All money raised will go towards the picnic tables requested for the school and if funds available we will supply icepoles for the children, at this year for sports days. We will also ensure the new starters 2025/26 will get teddies. (We have passed on the contacts for these to the school and hopefully they will continue this tradition for new starters, as well as the leavers hoodies for 2026 onwards.)
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us—whether by attending events, volunteering, or offering words of encouragement. Everything we did was for the children, and we are so proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Don’t forget to come along today and help us raise as much as possible at our last EVER stall, selling off all our Easter stock! We will be on the FRONT playground 🐰🐣🍭
