Well, thats it for another Silver Jubilee Horse chestnut. Wrong tree in the wrong place, but canker got it in the end.
We'll continue to plant new trees in Holly Hayes over winter and into early spring

GLI will be at Coalville CANs Family Open Day event this morning.
Find us at No2 Lantern lane, Coalville from 11am. That's on the Memorial Square, right under the clock tower.
Loads to do and see. We'll be demonstrating something woody and promoting our volunteering and welfare projects.

Bodgers group on tour.
We had a visit and walk round Holly Hayes with a brew-up and a lovely chatty carving session.
Perfect weather, perfect setting, great company.

Second week of our Community Fund supported Young Rangers program, and we've been getting to grips with the sheep.
Rangers have administered worming drench, tagged and dagged our whole flock.
There's no standing back, just getting stuck in.
Well done Rangers, that's an important job done.
