Since its launch in June 2018, Wetwheels Yorkshire has taken thousands of disabled people and their families onto the sea to experience a safe, stimulating and adventurous trip off the stunning Yorkshire Coast. Creating memories to cherish including dolphin and whale

encounters, the opportunity to take the helm and steer the vessel, or just to feel the salty spray. Wetwheels Yorkshire's volunteer crew are all specially trained and ensure everyone on board has a great time, safely. Congratulations to our volunteer crew who have spent their valuable spare time during the past few months studying for their RYA Day Skipper (shore based) qualification. Expertly guided by Maureen of Inshore Training (also a volunteer on board Wetwheels Yorkshire 😊) who gave her time to ensure the team have a depth of knowledge to add to their sparkling, empathetic personalities! Finally, a huge shout out to Whish Whitby for supporting us with the use of their amazing Community Room ❤️

Whilst the team at Wetwheels Yorkshire are extremely proud to be based in God's Own Country, we are mindful that our Lancashire cousins need cheering up once in a while. With this in mind, we are please to announce our Lancashire Outreach 2026. Rather than transporting Wetwheels Yorkshire over the Pennines, we'll be chartering this little beauty and have secured the use of Clagtown Clay Pit with scenic views over the local brickworks, Bog Hole sewerage treatment works (shortlisted as a potential UNESCO heritage site) and abundant local wildlife (mostly rodents).
