We have a litter of 10 staffy cross puppies looking for their forever homes. If you are interested in these puppies please call Bob on 01947 810787 - please leave a message if he doesn’t answer straight away. We are preferably looking for homes with people who have experience with owning dogs and puppies, have plenty of time to spend with the pup and have secure outdoor space. We would ask for a donation to the Charity to help with the dogs, cover the costs and prevent impulse actions, of at least £250. Thanks

UPDATE: THE DEVOUT BANNER

Well, you fabulous folk, sometimes nice things happen, and I'd like to share some good fortune that came today.

As you may be aware, it was extremely disappointing to report the taking of a Devout banner following their gig at last week's Whitby Steampunk Weekend.

At a pre arranged meeting with Whitby Pavilion Management today to discuss the last Event and ideas going forward, a parcel addressed to me was handed over.

Upon opening said parcel, I was astonished and delighted to find the contents was in fact the missing Devout Banner.

To my surprise, the parcel also contained an envelope with an extremely generous donation to Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue.

Both the venue staff and I were extremely happy that the person found it within themselves to both post the banner back to us and to also make this very kind gesture for Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue.

I would like to personally thank that person for their note on the envelope, and their donation which has been gratefully received and will be a big help to our furry friends Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue.

It is said that Friday the 13th is supposed to be a day of bad luck, however this incredible gesture has certainly proved the opposite. Thank you so much for this genuine act of kindness.

A grand total of £870.67 was raised for Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue at Whitby Steampunk Weekend XIX.

Thank you all for your incredible generosity, support and love shown to our chosen charity, your kindness is much appreciated and really will make a difference to them helping and caring for our fabulously fluffy and furry friends.

May I take this opportunity to personally acknowledge and thank a number of kind souls who helped to make a success of the event, and in promoting Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue.

To the fabulous Chris from Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue who has (as always) been a massive help and assistance over the weekend, thank you buddy, much appreciated.

The weekend kicked in style with the Friday Fashion Show, and our sister Rachel of fabulous Faeries,Follies & Favours did us proud managing and producing Fashion Show, and to all our models, fluffers and helpers turning the idea into a brilliant success, and of course our superb Traders who chose to take the opportunity to showcase their wonderful creations.

Special thanks also to Robert and Helen from Bydand Design for being our amazingly brilliant quizmasters, and to Justin and his team at Rusty Shears for going the extra mile and being the best hosts for our charity quiz every Feb and July, bless you friends.

Throughout the weekend Paul Eccentric of The Periwinkle Perspective was our very special MC for the weekend, an absolute gent of the highest order, thank you friend.

The weekend has highlighted many things for me as the organiser of our little event in a cold northern seaside town in the middle of winter, and putting it all into perspective, it's not about us, it's simply about helping our furry friends, and the amazing job Whitby and Scarborough Dog Rescue do for them.

We are so pleased to announce that Whitby Dog Rescue are the chosen Charity for next weekends Whitby Steampunk Festival 7-9th February. The weekend kicks off with a fabulous Fashion Show in the Pavilion Theatre on Friday night 7pm for 8 followed by 2 days of trader stalls in the Pavilion showcasing so many fantastical adornments and curiosities, clothing and edibles - it really is a feast for your eyes. On Saturday evening there is a quiz at Rusty Shears - teams of 4 for £10 - and this is also in support of the dog rescue. Come along, bring your friends ( the four legged type are always welcome too!) and have a wonderful time at the Whitby Steampunk Weekend. Our gratitude and thanks to all the Steampunk fraternity and especially to Michelle and Andy!
