Well we've had a wonderful day today with an alphabet challenge, 6 games of dominoes, a wonderful 2 course lunch, quizzes and lots of prizes won at bingo!

Today we have said goodbye to Amanda our activities team leader. Amanda has made such a difference in the last 9 months, but is leaving to spend time at home with puppy Archie and to relaunch her textile art business.

Amanda started volunteering in December and became team leader end of January. Always smiling, singing, laughing and the best bingo caller ever.

All the best from everyone at Trinity, you will be missed.

Over the last couple of weeks the clients have been working hard on bringing Amanda's vision to life. It was so lovely having bunting up for the Jubilee celebrations, but Amanda wanted to create a more personal and permanent bunting. Something bright and colourful.

Amanda printed photos of all the clients and the various activities we have done in recent months and they were inserted into clear pockets. Then the clients got creative and decorated the textile bunting pieces and created lots of pompoms and tassles.

The wool was very kindly donated by Michelle of Whitby Crafts. Thank you Michelle. 😊

Today it was finished off and hung up and I think you'll agree it's really beautiful. It was so lovely to see the clients looking at all the photos and remembering all the wonderful things we do at Trinity Centre and the friendships we all have.

Well done clients and a fantastic idea Amanda

What a marvellous Monday!

We've had a busy and laughter filled day. Our clients have made pom poms for some special bunting we are making. This is such a great activity for getting their hands and fingers going. It also triggered a lot of memories from childhood and making them with the cardboard tops on milk bottles.

We did the first stage of making our apple pinch pots. So lovely to see the clients using clay and it will be wonderful when they are dry and we are able to paint them, it will really bring them to life.

After a lovely lunch of bangers and mash with cauliflower and brocoli, followed by apricot sponge and custard, we played 6 games of dominoes and bingo!

Barbara and Joan also enjoyed a little dance too.

What a day!

Our clients love anything nature related. Theme of the day, bugs!

We had all the favourite bug based activities, quizzes, wordsearches and creative activity.

We always take lots of photos of the creative activity, but it is just a tiny but enjoyable part of the day.

Lunch today was fish cakes, chips, peas and parsley sauce, followed by pineapple upside-down sponge and custard! Obviously this all went down very well with the clients.

After lunch we had a A-Z quiz, gosh our clients were on point today. Some amazing answers.

Clients request for our last activity today, Bingo! Lots of prizes were won and taken home. A lovely way to end the week.

Have a wonderful weekend 😀

We work really hard to make the surroundings bright, stimulating and fun for the clients.

The clients love to see their work displayed. We change the art work every month or so to keep it fresh and interesting. Then their work goes either in their scrapbooks/memory books or they take it home.

It's lovely to hear the clients discussing their work and remembering what we did. They also encourage and compliment each other which is really nice.

Even though the clients are often given the same activity, we encourage them to create what they like so it reflects their personalities. There are always examples and guidelines, but there's no right or wrong way. It's their interpretation and with any creative activity it should be expressive and personal.

We try to have a theme linked to the season, an occasion or a world event.

I think you'll agree our clients are so talented!

Happy Yorkshire Day

Today we celebrated Yorkshire Day with lots of fun and stimulating activities. From quizzes, wordsearches, mastermind and flag making.

We had such a giggle at the Yorkshire Dialect quiz and lots of discussion around the places on the Yorkshire map.

We had different wordsearches to meet the different needs of the clients, including an enlarged version. It's so lovely to hear the clients supporting and encouraging each other.

Before we knew and after a few games of bingo, it was time to go home. What a fun packed Yorkshire day we've had!

Fantastic Friday 🧁

Fiona our wonderful cook baked the clients some buns to decorate. It was so lovely to see the clients being creative with their decorations. The clients couldn't wait to take them home to eat and show their families.

We had a cake quiz, wordsearch and learnt some interesting facts about record breaking cakes. We discussed our favourite cakes too.

Luckily by then it was lunchtime as with all the cake talk it was making everyone's tummies rumble. Lunch today was savoury mince, mash, cauliflower and peas, followed by coconut sponge and custard.

We always try to cater for individual needs and requirements, so some clients did a more complex word game. Then everyone joined in with the afternoon activities of play your cards right and bingo. Lots of wonderful prizes were won, thank you for all donations left at Sainsburys. Our clients really appreciate it 🙏

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, thank you for all your comments, likes and shares.
