New art shop in Scarborough.
We launch our new shop in Scarborough - bookaclass.com - at 79 Newborough TODAY. We'll be open 9am-5pm. It's what you call a soft launch, meaning we will be opening even though there's much still to do.
Many of the tall units, plus all their stock, are yet to arrive. The facade of the shop - which is at the centre of the high street opposite Marks & Spencer - is still untouched. There are no signs to tell shoppers who we are, but one glance through the windows will make it clear what we are.
This first phase is about getting the art supplies and books side of the business up and running. The second phase will happen next year when classes will be introduced at this address, in the basement, underneath the shop - a space that we think is brimming with potential.
This eventuality means artists will be able to buy materials here as well as activate them. Our cards, and soon to be resurrected fine art print section, means there will be an opportunity to get work seen, too.
We see ourselves as much more than an art supplies shop. But it will take time to get the whole cradle-to-cradle experience up and running. Bear with us while we do this in real time - while you watch!

We're open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.
