The Howe Trust was founded in 1879 and is a local charity based in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. The Howe Trust has funds available to help local people or organisations who are suffering from hardship. We aim to support the education of young people in our community, and provide much needed access to green space. We are responsible for managing 26 acres of land in Wheatley, known as The Howe which inclu
des a large area of community allotments for rent, as well as grassland, hedgerows and woodland areas. The Howe land is open to all, including dogs on leads, as an area of recreation and relaxation and boasts beautiful views across the village towards the Otmoor and the Chilterns. The Howe Trust is run by a committee of trustees who all live in the village, and we have a small number of helpers who help us with routine maintenance. We are always looking to welcome new volunteers to help - no prior experience required! We'd love to hear from you if you'd like to get involved, either on a regular or ad hoc basis to help with tree planting, path maintenance, mowing or specific projects such as hedgerow creation.
