❤️ Volunteer Week 2026 ❤️
As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we're reflecting on the impact our volunteers have every day.
Rosey says: "I feel privileged to be part of a charity that changes lives. I feel the experience has broadened my own outlook and enriched my own life."
Nicky says volunteering gives her huge satisfaction and that she often finds herself staying longer than planned because "the time flies by."
Our volunteers support guests in many different ways, but they all have one thing in common – they care.
Rosey and Nicky both volunteer on a regular basis, but The Bus Shelter also works with some volunteers just when their skills are required, such as handyman, plumbing, electrician, cooking or van driving.
If you've ever thought about volunteering, perhaps Rosey's advice says it best:
"Give us a go. It's not for everyone but at least walk through that door... or gate. You may be surprised."
