Floral fun night.

So tonight the committee organised a team imposed practical night .

The club provided everything for members to kick off the year in style.

Committee between them provided all the foliage , club funds provided and mechanics flowers and containers etc and floral foam .

Members just needed their snips and off they went.

Just turned up without a clue what botanicals they were going to be given

They divided up in to teams and it was a bit like musical statues without the music or statues!!! Everyone took turns to place finishes and or flowers in the design when it was their turn with the more experienced members helping guide the newer and improved flower arrangers.

Well done e everyone e they are “Absolutely Fabulous “

Weymouth floral design groups Florsl Christmas crackers 2025

……so we can cast our mind back a few weeks to pre Xmas and our lovely flower club members created these festive floral Christmas crackers

…. Who’d believe with an empty litre milk carton a piece, tiny piece of foam and a piece of wrapping paper along with a few sprigs of foliage and stems of flowers you can make these gorgeous festive floral designs

….. well done ladies spoilt for choice to choose a favourite so I’ll say a Bruce’s they are all my favourites lol

It’s a cracker- ladies of Weymouth Floral Design Group got crafty last night and created beautiful floral crackers .

All there’s was an old milk or juice carton ( cut a square hole in the top) , a piece of wrapping paper tiny piece of floral foam or a teeny jar to put inside a few sprigs of foliage and a few flowers .

We had a quick AGM, voted in new secretary and new treasurer a few mins. Of any other business.

🌻 Weymouth Floral Design Group – Autumn Competition Results! 🍁

What a wonderful evening we had at our Autumn Club Competition! The room was filled with stunning autumnal colours, inspirational themes, and creative designs showcasing every level of talent — from novice to intermediate to advanced. Entries ranged from beautiful traditional arrangements to striking contemporary interpretations, all capturing the true spirit of the season.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part — both our talented competitors and all the members and guests who came along to support the event. Your encouragement and enthusiasm mean so much to us!

Special thanks go to our hardworking committee for the tremendous effort that went into staging the show, and to our wonderful Club Chair, Karen Boyce, for coordinating the return of trophies, organising the presentation, and preparing all the competitor name cards and certificates.

We were delighted to welcome Dorset & Guernsey Area President, Liz Whitcome, who joined us to see the show, and our sincere thanks to judge Di Pillieart for her thoughtful judging, valuable feedback, and constructive critique at the end of the evening — it was greatly appreciated by all.

don't forget tonight we have the lovely Katie Baxter Area Demonstrator from Wessex and Jersey travelling over to demonstrate 5 x large fabulous floral designs to the title "Tales from the cutting garden "

doors open 7pm and it is only £10 includes light refreshments .
The beautiful arrangements will be raffled off at the end of the evening so a great chance to go home with some floral joy. Hope to see you this evening - all welcome .
