A great turnout on Tuesday evening saw the bulrush de-heading on pond 4 completed for this year.

Working Party

Massive thanks to up all who turned up today to help with bulrush de-heading. It's much appreciated.

A fantastic effort saw the majority of the bulrushes de headed from the pond 4 island today, with only a small amount remaining for the next working party scheduled for Tuesday evening.

It was the general opinion that our efforts are paying off as there was nowhere near the number of bulrushes as there were last year.

Meet 6.00 pm Tuesday 18th to finish off. No need to let us know, just turn up. Waders/ Wellies advised and a pair of secateurs..

The next project will be the island on pond 2; it’s very overgrown and needs a good tidy up.

Watch this space for further details.

Working party

Appeal to members for Help.

Your Club needs you!!

We need help to remove the bulrush heads from the island and banks of pond 4, the island on pond 2 needs a tidy up as well and ponds 1 & 2 need the reeds removing, but we are going to start with de-heading the bulrushes and then move on to the island and then the ponds.

If you can spare a few hours on Saturday to help us it would be much appreciated.

Please e-mail Andy at [email protected] if you can help.

Meet Saturday 15th August 10.00am, please bring suitable foot wear, head wear and secateurs.

There is a massive amount of work to do and Rome wasn’t built in a day so the work will be ongoing until completed, if you are unable to help on this working party there will always be another, check out Facebook for dates and venues.

Hope to see you there.

To all our members.

This from Otley Angling Centre.

Please be aware, unfortunately we have a suspected KVH or similar outbreak at OTLEY POND.

Obviously the pond is closed for now and efforts are being taken to sort it out.

Anyone who fished the pond in the last few weeks, please be aware and take all efforts to disinfect all nets and mats and dry in the sun thoroughly.

Please pass this on to anyone who you think may have fish the pond recently.

Please note this is OTLEY ponds NOT OURS

Thanks

Due to the current water levels and in the interest of fish welfare WADAC have introduced a blanket keepnet ban across all of our waters until further notice, we have also decided to postpone all club matches until the water levels improve.

Pleasure fishing is still allowed and encouraged on
all of our waters on a catch and release basis.
