Bowling Club with both flat and crown greens

Bowls isn’t just a summer game. While we just love sunny Sunday afternoons, as long as it’s not persistently raining, we just wrap up warm and get bowling!
Why not come and join us? We’ll be there to welcome you between 2-4 p.m. this Sunday – and every Sunday (as long as it’s not persistently doing you-know-what!)

Despite it being another cloudy morning, the greens and clubhouse at Wetherby Bowling Club seem to be in fine fettle. Why not come and try them out? We have all the equipment to get you going, and are there every sunny (and cloudy!) Sunday from 2-4 p.m. All you need to do is bring a flat pair of shoes and your sunny smile ⚫️⚫️🙂⚫️⚫️

So what’s the weather going to be this afternoon? It’s not much fun playing bowls in the pouring rain (though we may have to during matches) so we tend not to practice on Sunday afternoons if it’s cold and wet. We may be dodging showers this afternoon, but if you’d like to come and give bowls a try – for the first time, or the first time in a while – then we’ll be ready to welcome you at Wetherby Bowling Club, Grange Park, Wetherby, LS22 5NB. Just bring some flat shoes – no open toes, please – and your sunny smile 🌞

Congratulations to the Lionesses! That wasn’t just a victory for women’s football, it was a victory for sport in England. And if playing football’s not quite your scene, why not think about trying bowls? There’s no running, there’s no physical contact, while the sport is as competitive or as relaxing as you want it to be.

Like many bowls clubs, we're taking part in Bowls' Big Weekend. Wetherby Bowling Club is virtually unique in having two greens - one flat green and one crown green. Want to know the difference? Come and have a go! You can try one, t'other, or both FOR FREE from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holiday Monday. Just bring some flat shoes (no open toes, please) and a smile

It's a bit cooler today – but then not everyone likes the really hot weather. We'll still be up at Wetherby Bowling Club from 2 - 4 p.m. today (Sunday, 8th June) to play bowls.
