The Resplendent Quetzal… honestly one of the most magical creatures on earth 💚✨
Every time I see a photo of this beauty, I’m taken straight back to Guatemala — my roots, my heart, my home 🇬🇹

With those vibrant green feathers, that incredible long tail, and its gentle, almost mystical presence, it’s no wonder the quetzal is our national bird. In Mayan culture it symbolises freedom and light… and you can feel that when you look at it. 🌿🪽

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to spot one in the cloud forests, you know exactly what I mean — it’s like nature showing off in the most elegant way.

🇬🇹✨ Meanwhile in Guatemala… we’re celebrating Día de Todos los Santos (All Saints Day) on November 1st — a beautiful tradition of remembrance and joy 💐🕊️

Families gather to honor their loved ones by visiting cemeteries, creating altars, sharing stories, and preparing the iconic dish fiambre 🥗 — a vibrant mix of meats, veggies, and pickled goodness that’s only made once a year!

One of the most magical parts? The giant kite festivals 🪁 in Santiago Sacatepéquez and Sumpango, where colorful kites soar sky-high to connect with the spirits above 🌈💨
