More Chinto bunkai being revealed.
For the last few years we have been working on the bunkai for katas almost exactly as the kata moves as opposed to gliding over parts that seem impossible to decipher and what is revealed is eye opening.
We see lots of kata bunkai performed really well on competition videos and much of it bears little resemblance to the kata and some parts just left out .

What we have found is that the combinations are in fact deadly 'end of confrontation' moments.
Maybe a block or deflection then the real business, so alien to standard karate training even at higher levels.
Performing the bunkai has to be with great care and slowly so as not to harm each other.
Pre emptive attack is also shown up.
The point to remember is that your enemy is intent on harming you so messing around is not an option. It must be final. Quickly.
